It's that time of the week again, and even though Wrath is out and we're all playing up a storm, we'll be taking some time out of our schedule to put out our weekly podcast, the WoW Insider Show, and you should come join us. We'll be live on Ustream tomorrow afternoon at 3:30pm Eastern (time zone calculator), and this week, we'll welcome the site's other co-lead blogger, Dan O'Halloran on with us -- he was live on the scene in Anaheim with Blizzard and about a thousand fans during the launch, and he got to talk to Tom Chilton, so we'll get him to tell us all about that. And Chase Christian, who writes the Encrypted Text rogue column, will be joining us as well to talk about his experiences from 70-72 so far. Additionally, we'll be chatting about Blizzard issues with server downtime and how they've fared post-launch so far (very well, I think, queues notwithstanding), and we'll talk about that first to 80 player and all of our other experiences in Northrend over the past few days.Should be a terrific show, definitely tune in on Ustream, or just come right back to this post, as we've embedded the stream after the break. If you've got a question for the show or something you'd like us to talk about, just drop a note: our email address is the show AT wowinsider dot com. And of course we'll be on for our usual aftershow -- after the show ends, we turn off the recording and chat directly with the people in the channel, so if you haven't listened live before, there's a great reason to tune in tomorrow. See you there!

  • Nymh of EU Drek'thar first to level 80

var digg_url = 'http://digg.com/pc_games/Nyhm_of_EU_Drek_thar_is_the_first_level_80_in_the_world'; Reports of the first character to reach level 80 are flooding in, and there are screenshots to back it up. Congratulations to Nymh of EU Drek'thar on your achievement! Nymh's Armory displays her (him?) as an SL/SL Warlock, which I've been told is an exceptionally good grinding spec, especially when coupled with a healer. Judging by her buffs in the full screenshot, it looks like she just may have had a pocket healer on the journey to 80. A Discipline Priest, specifically. Whether the Priest was there the whole way through or just happened to be partied with Nymh at that moment, we're not really sure. That screenshot also seems to be from the Grizzly Hills, which is roughly a mid-70s zone. Nymh may have dinged 80, but she still has plenty of content ahead. I hope the trek to 80 was an enjoyable one! How long until you start leveling your alts, Nymh?[via MMO-Champion]

This past week, as we do every Saturday, we sat down on WoW Radio to record the one and only WoW Insider Show (recently chosen by our friend Patrick, we'll remind you, as one of eight podcasts geek gamers shouldn't live without), and results of that session are now on WoW Radio (and in iTunes, where you can and should subscribe to recieve it in the brand new iTunes 8 for free every week). BRK and Duncor joined me, and we chatted about: How recruit-a-friend has changed the game, when you can now go from 1-60 in just 20 minutes Whether it was fair or not to remove those "first to 80" titles -- Duncor especially had a strong opinion on this one. And we had a spirited discussion about Achievements -- I'm for them, BRK isn't so much. We answered email as well, and we did a live Ask a Beta Tester session, since we were all three in the beta, about Death Knight DPS, what it's been like playing my usually Resto Shaman as Elemental in the beta, and what the Ret Monkey has been up to lately (looks like he didn't actually spec Prot as we'd hoped). I think it's a particularly good show this week, so definitely give it a listen. And do visit us in iTunes -- subscribing to the show would be great (and believe me, subscribing to shows in iTunes 8 is a definitely improved experience), or just leave us a review letting us know what you think. If you have feedback you want to send directly, the show's email address is theshow@wow.com.We'll be back on WoW Radio next Saturday again -- if you've never tuned in live to IRC and the live stream, definitely make time for it around 3:30 Eastern, it's a lot of fun, both talking to all the great people in the channel and hearing us spout our thoughts about the World of Warcraft live. See you next week!

Yes, our weekly podcast is returning to the virtual airwaves this afternoon, and while Turpster is off cavorting around Florida, Duncor, myself, and BRK will be live on WoW Radio talking about the most popular stories in the past week of Warcraft. We're sure to hit on the whole Recruit-a-Friend leveling extravaganza (and if it's hurting the game), Blizzard's removal of the "first to 80" titles (and whether they are hurting the game), and the soon-to-be rarity of the Zul'Aman bears (and whether, you guessed it, that's hurting the game) and our favorite achievements (even though BRK thinks they're hurting the game). Also, all three of us are in and playing the beta, so we'll do another live version of "Ask a Beta Tester" with the people in the IRC channel during the show -- you can join us on IRC at irc.mmoirc.org in the #wowradio channel, or send your question to theshow@wow.com right now and we might answer it on the show for you.Should be a fun podcast, especially since our little show is one of the "eight podcasts geek gamers shouldn't live without"! (Thanks, Patrick!) We'll kick things off around 3:30pm Eastern time, and you can tune in just by visiting the WoW Radio homepage (as always, if you can't make it, a recording of the show will be available later in the week). See you then!
