A couple of months ago, our interest was piqued in Forge, an upcoming game with a hybrid of MMO and shooter elements. In August, we were able to get a better look at the game and shared our hands-on experience. Now, folks interested in getting into the beta for themselves have the chance to do so as Dark Vale Games has announced a closed beta for Forge that will last from now until the end of November. Players who registered for the game early in the summer have access to this closed beta, as do those who have pre-ordered the game. If you missed your chance to sign up previously, pre-orders are still being taken on the official site. Also, anyone who registers on the site now will be able to log a little bit of beta time using a free 14-day trial set within the beta. Dark Vale games also released a peek at one of the upcoming maps, called Capital Siege. For a preview of this map, check out the video after the break. [Source: Dark Vale Games press release]

The fifth anniversary of Dungeons and Dragons Online is at the end of this month, and Turbine's got big plans for both the birthday celebration and the rest of 2011. We at Massively took a tour of the upcoming content today, and along with information on pirates, treasure maps, and an old familiar area reopened, we heard an exciting piece of news. Turbine will be bringing DDO: Unlimited to the European audience in 2011, supporting French and German languages as well as English. Beta testing will begin in March. Want more details on what's to come for DDO this month? Keep your eyes peeled for this Friday's Exploring Eberron, where you'll find a full rundown of the newest content addition!

If it's Tuesday, it must be time for more news of Flagship Studios' upcoming free-to-play MMO, Mythos. Lead developer Travis Baldree tells German fan site Online Welten more about their plans for Mythos' future, Coming up are another class and another race. Travis also explains what sorts of things you'll be able to get with their RMT system, such as more slots for your "stash", and the ability to share your stash among other characters. Mounts are coming soon -- hope they're more unique than (yawn) boring horses. Information about new guilds, puzzle boxes, wedding rings and naked foot-races -- it's all there, in elegant English or glorious German -- your choice. In his latest "Almost-a-blog", Travis also talks about their first epic quest-triggered Overworld boss. Everyone who helps take it down gets loot, similar to Warhammer Online's public quests. There's news about particle effects, Zone 2 progress, the consignment house and crafting. There also seems to be a lot of talk about open beta on the forums.
