  • Star Wars 1313, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 titles leaked ahead of E3 announcements

A landing page on GameTrailers TV [since replaced] for the site's upcoming E3 coverage has leaked at least two big titles ahead of the show itself. According to the page (which has been replaced, screenshot above), "E3 begins on GTTV with the Star Wars 1313 announcement and new trailers from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Tomb Raider, Guardians of Middle-Earth, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and Dishonored."Most of those we already knew would be getting some coverage at the show next week, but two of those titles are new to our ears: Star Wars 1313, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.Star Wars 1313 is a trademark that's been bouncing around at LucasFilm for a while, but there's been no official word on just what it might be yet. In the Expanded Universe, Boba Fett once used the alias "CT-1313," so the best guess is that it's a new franchise based around Fett's story in some way. StarWars1313.com has also been registered by LucasArts, and currently redirects to the main Star Wars site. And Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is clearly a sequel to the 2010 title that's hardly a big surprise to finally hear about. But it's not any less exciting to see these two big names revealed by GTTV's mistake. We'll obviously find out more about both of these when the official announcements are made.Update: Star Wars 1313 now has a Facebook page, also apparently leaked before an "announcement." There's a shot and a description on there, both of which we've reprinted after the break. 1313 refers to "Level 1313," a criminal underground on Coruscant (if indeed this page is real), but there is mention of a certain "bounty hunter," so Boba's not out yet.Update: LucasArts' official site has the shot, logo, and a link to the Facebook page. It's official, this is the new Star Wars game.[Thanks, Jonas]

When will you get to see Silicon Knights' X-Men Destiny in action? We just don't know. You can, however, watch this total teaser for it from the latest episode of GTTV. We're hoping that the X-Men among you will dissect the trailer and let us know of any interesting tidbits in the comments below.

  • Hyperspace Beacon: E3 -- extravagant extraterrestrial exhibition

The Hyperspace Beacon is a weekly guide and discussion by Larry Everett about the yet-to-be-released game Star Wars: The Old Republic. We have been teased, taunted, and tantalized this week before the Electronic Entertainment Expo, so much so SWTOR fans don't know topsy from turvy. In this Hyperspace Beacon, released just hours before Electronic Arts' press conference at the Expo, I will hopefully give you the lowdown on the latest news and perhaps help you appreciate the magnitude of the startling reveals. On the surface they may seem like hyped-up teases with very little to latch on to, but I believe they have exposed quite a bit. As Massively reporters packed their bags to head to Los Angeles, Bioware did not stop tossing tidbits at its diligent disciples. First, we were treated with a hands-on walkthrough from Gamespot detailing the beginning quest for most of the starting classes. Twi'leks and chiss were cited as playable species in this revealing report. Also, Gametrailers.com probed the path behind producing an exciting E3 trailer. Besides touring Blur studios, the interview taunted us with a brief look into this year's animated short story. Continue on after the break to find more insight into the extravagant extraterrestrial exhibition that is this year's E3.

We won't have to wait for E3 to see the first info about the new Red Faction game. GameTrailers TV will reveal a trailer for the upcoming game tomorrow, at 12:20AM Eastern. Destructoid says that the game is called Red Faction: Armageddon, which fits with a trademark registered by THQ recently. In any case, we'll know ... early tomorrow morning! The episode will also feature new footage of Crysis 2 and Platinum Games' Vanquish, so it's probably worth checking out if you like to see people in futuristic armor shooting things. See the promo after the break. [Via Destructoid]

  • Our Enslaved: Odyssey to the West trailer is your trailer

The most recent episode of GameTrailers TV brought with it the first moving pictures associated with Ninja Theory's upcoming Chinese fable-turned-video game, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Our initial thoughts on the trailer is that it loses a significant amount of points for sheer bossiness ("My something is your something," the video frequently informs us), but regains said points for the protagonist's creative methods of ladder navigation. Update: Trailer embedded above.

If you're looking for Call of Duty news that isn't related to the Infinity Ward fiasco, you're in luck. This week's GameTrailers TV will feature a brand new teaser trailer that promises to "put all the rumors to rest." We already know that the next iteration of Activision's FPS franchise will be developed by World at War's Treyarch, but this week's GTTV should finally confirm the long-rumored Vietnam setting. GTTV will air on SpikeTV on Friday night at 12:40AM. (And don't worry, we'll post details immediately after they air.) Check out a promo after the break.

We never thought we'd have to slap a spoiler warning on a post about downloadable content for the Left 4 Dead franchise -- and yet, here we are. The latest episode of GameTrailers TV revealed an intriguing plot point about the pair of new chapters for the original game and sequel. We respect that some of you might want to remain in the dark about the DLC until you finally get your hands on it. For the rest of you, check out the details just past the jump.

We know that some of you are less than excited about the return of vehicular gameplay to the Mass Effect franchise -- we still have vivid nightmares about our time behind the wheel of the Mako from the original game. However, your position will probably be reversed by last night's episode of GameTrailers TV, which showed off the Hammerhead vehicle which will arrive in the upcoming "Firewalker" DLC for Mass Effect 2. It is, in a word, rad. In two words? Totally rad. Check out Chapter Four of the episode to see the Normandy SR-2 crew's new toy in action.

  • God of War III features 'first-person kills'

"You finally get the chance to see what it's like to be killed by Kratos," Adam Puhl explained to Geoff Keighley in the latest episode of GameTrailers TV. Although described as "first person kills," we'd argue that they should be coined "second person kills" -- you are doing the killing, after all. Regardless of the terminology, these interactive sequences are likely to represent some of the most gruesome moments of the entire franchise. For us, this footage represented the highlight of last night's episode. The 21-minute special includes a rather comprehensive look at God of War III, but be warned of potential spoilers. You will see some new bosses, and even a new power that enhances the combat rather significantly. It's only a few weeks away until the game's release, so let's find out if you have the willpower not to visit GameTrailers.

"Part cat, part girl - and fully lethal." That's how Krome Studios' press release describes the heroine of the upcoming Blade Kitten, a two-part, downloadable arcade action game coming to the PS3 this Spring. The anime-inspired game is based off a comic of the same name, created by Krome Studios co-founder Steve Stamatiadis. A gameplay trailer will debut later tonight exclusively on Spike TV's GameTrailers TV. Expect to see some platforming, sword fighting and a disturbing focus on her -- we kid you not -- "smart mouth" and "hot body." Meow. Before then, you can watch a teaser trailer after the break. %Gallery-85940%

  • Platinum Games' fourth game to be announced on this week's GTTV

    01.25.2010

Here were are again, folks, for another edition of "Turn a Tweet Into a Full Post." This time we've got word from the always exciting Twitter feed of Geoff Keighley that this week's episode of GameTrailers TV will reveal the fourth game from Japanese developer Platinum Games. So far, after inking a publishing deal with Sega in 2008 for four games, all we've heard of the mysterious fourth title is that it will be headed up by Resident Evil designer Shinji Mikami. Considering the somewhat confusing wording of Keighley's tweet, we asked the man himself to clarify what we're going to see on Thursday evening. "It's an exclusive reveal trailer for the game inside the show this week. The news breaks during GTTV on Thursday night. We're really excited to have the Japanese developers/publishers working with us on reveals like this." He also pointed out that this countdown on Platinum Games' Japanese website has been counting down towards Thursday's reveal -- aha! For all the steaming hot scoops, you'll have to peep the show when it airs this Thursday evening/Friday morning at 12:30AM ET.

  • Nintendo 'hasn't committed' to new Zelda for Wii in 2010

We all know that home console Zelda games take longer to develop than most small, fledgling nations -- still, we'd secretly hoped that Nintendo would pull a hat trick next year, releasing new Wii installments in the Metroid, Mario and the aforementioned Triforce-centric series. Sadly, a recent quote from Reggie Fils-Aime has made us doubtful that this scenario will be realized -- speaking on GameTrailers TV, Fils-Aime explained that Nintendo hasn't "committed to Zelda for 2010." So, feel free to keep that hope in your heart that you'll be Ganon-thwarting once more within the next 365 days -- but don't get too upset if it doesn't happen. Much like a college-aged Lothario, Nintendo's remaining non-committal. You might say the company's as free as a bird, darling -- and this bird, you cannot change.

Like all good things in life, there's a steep price to pay for watching last night's Bioshock 2–centric episode of GameTrailers TV (posted after the jump). That price is your everlasting soul.Okay, all it actually costs you is exposure to a few spoilers for the game -- but isn't that just as bad? Remember that sense of wonder the first time you stepped foot into the murky waters of Rapture? Aren't you afraid you'll ruin whatever semblance of that emotion that might still appear in the sequel by filling your ... you're already watching it, aren't you? You're a fiend, you know that? Ever since Andrew Ryan decided to go out for that pack of smokes (our mom says he's coming back; just you wait!), there's been nobody to tend to the leaky pipes and roving packs of splicers in Rapture. Well, according to GameTrailers TV's Geoff Keighley, someone's finally decided to step in and assume the leadership role for BioShock 2, and we'll find out who on Thursday's episode. In another tweet, Keighley promised plenty of "new single player info and footage" and even teased that the episode will also reveal new characters -- something we already knew was planned for the sequel. You can catch the special BioShock 2 episode this Thursday night, October 22 at 12:30 a.m. ET on Spike.

  • LucasArts officially reveals Lucidity, hitting XBLA this month

    09.11.2009

As promised, LucasArts showed off its new game, Lucidity, on GameTrailers TV last night. As you can see in the video above, it's sort of a puzzley platformer that has you manipulating objects in the environment in order to help Sophie (who's moving of her own free will, Lemmings-style) get from one side of the screen to the other. We're intrigued by the gameplay, but totally in love with the art style and calming soundtrack. Luckily, we don't have long to wait to hear it in full, as the game's apparently coming to XBLA later this month. A date for the PC version is still unannounced, and there's no word of an appearance on PSN. [Update: LucasArts sent over a much nicer video, showing some more gameplay, as well as a charming introduction, which you can see right up top!] %Gallery-72576%

  • New LucasArts game to debut on Spike this week

    09.09.2009

This Thursday night (or Friday morning, if you prefer) at 12:30 AM EST, Spike TV's GameTrailers TV will reveal a brand new LucasArts game, according to host Geoff Keighley. Since he announced it in a 140 character-constrained tweet, and since he wants you to watch the show, there was little room for details beyond it being "original." We're just going to guess that the new game is Lucidity, the rumored XBLA adventure game that has yet to be officially announced. Of course, a safer bet would be "another Star Wars game." We'll all find out Thursday night, we suppose. [Via Big Download]

How exclusive is this footage? So exclusive it's not even named yet! At least that's what Valve's Chet Faliszek told Geoff Keigley about Left 4 Dead 2's amusement park campaign on the most recent episode of GTTV. If you skip past the first half of the episode found after the break (which, inconveniently enough isn't available as a standalone video), you'll get a few minutes of new gameplay from the upcoming zombie-murdalizin' sequel. As you might imagine, there are zombies. There are also amusement park rides. As if clowns weren't terrifying enough! Come on, Valve! %Gallery-64704%

  • GameTrailers TV promo gives a look at DJ Hero peripheral

We got our first look at the vinyl-spinning peripheral for Activision's mixmastering sim DJ Hero earlier this month but -- well, they weren't very good pictures, were they? Just look at that framing. Terrible. Obviously, someone's never heard of the rule of thirds. Man, we learned about that photographic law during our extensive Pokémon Snap sessions. It's not that hard, people.Fortunately, a sneak peek for GameTrailers TV's E3 coverage gave us a much clearer shot of the turntable periph, seen in the image above. We get a pretty good look at the crossfader attachment, as well as a sense of the controller's size in comparison to a human lap. Hopefully, we'll get an even better (and more photographically sound) look at the peripheral when we check DJ Hero out at E3 next week.[Via NeoGAF, thanks to everyone who sent this in!]%Gallery-51799%

  • Rumor: GTTV taping reveals Uncharted 2 beta deets, other E3 tidbits

    05.21.2009

According to Kotaku, a recent live taping of a GameTrailers TV E3 special revealed a veritable bounty of E3 information. First and foremost, a spokesmen reportedly confirmed that the upcoming Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta will begin on the first day of E3. For all the Nathan Drake fans out there, that would be June 2, so mark your calendars. The special is also rumored to reveal new details about Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, specifically that the game will include time travel as well as new hover boots for Ratchet. Throw in some Modern Warfare 2 footage, a new title from Bethesda and news about loads of games including Mass Effect 2, Madden, Need For Speed: Shift, Dante's Inferno, Lost Planet 2 and Aliens vs Predator, and you've got quite a show.Granted, some of this could easily be revealed prior to the episode's May 28 premier (11:00pm ET/PT), but given the program's penchant for WORLD EXCLUSIVE reveals, it's probably worth checking out.[Via @geoffkeighley]

There was a time when we journalists had to go digging through people's trashcans to get the hot scoop. Now, our news is hand delivered to us by the Twitter feeds of celebrities. This is truly a great era.Tony Hawk just Tweeted that his latest game would be revealed on the May 15 episode of GameTrailers TV, saying, "I have been harboring the secret long enough." Yeah, another Tony Hawk game is being made. We're so glad he could get that off his chest. Can't imagine the burden.Speaking of "really well kept secrets", we figure there's a good chance he's talking about Tony Hawk Adrenaline, the possibly Balance Board-based, non-Neversoft title due out this year. ... Now Tony, what's the secret, exactly?[Thanks, Marcus]
