All Xbox 360 S models moving to matte finish
If you're in the market for an Xbox, and also happen to be a fan of fingerprints all over your stuff shiny things, you'd better get a move on: Major Nelson has announced on his blog that all 250GB Xbox 360 models will be transitioning away from their historically glossy finishes in favor of the 4GB's matte-black finish. The updated units will start arriving on store shelves "over the coming weeks," and aside from possible gloss finishes on forthcoming limited edition consoles, your local retailer's current stock of 'boxes appear to be the last of the breed. Now, if only a matte-black Kinect existed, we could eradicate smudges from our living rooms all together.
Samsung Gloss comes to US Cellular
Look familiar? Yep, this is US Cellular's version of the Cleo, a fun little clamshell that does battle with LG's Lotus by offering a full QWERTY keyboard in a stubby clamshell layout. Don't expect much feature-wise -- it's got a 176 x 144 display, for instance -- but you've still got a music player with stereo Bluetooth support and microSD expansion, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and of course, that text-tastic QWERTY pad. Look for it the carrier's stores in your choice of black and pink; we don't have pricing information, but we suspect it won't break the bank on contract.
Gloss Silver and Metallic Pink DS Lites now available for import
The new DS Lites have been released in Japan and have shown up on import shopping sites. That's right, for only $179 + shipping, you can have a DS Lite in one of the two new Japan-exclusive colors! You have your choice of Like the Regular DS Phat Color but on a Lite, or Like the Pink One but Shinier. Sure, you pay a premium, but it may be worth it to have a DS that looks somewhat different from other DS's in the immediate area. Depends on how you feel about the new colors! What do you think-- Gloss Silver or Gross Silver? Metallic Pink or Me-tacky Pink?
