The Siege of Orgrimmar is just three weeks away, and we can expect that the changes for patch 5.4 are starting to solidify. Blizzard released the notes for the latest PTR build yesterday and there are some notable changes as well as reminders -- such as the fact that these next three weeks mark the final opportunity you have to nab the achievements that correspond with Vol'jin's rebellion as well as the Golden Lotus's "Eternally in the Vale." Time to get going on those, if you want them! Frost DKs: Frost Strike now deals 115% weapons damage (up from 105% weapon damage), and Obliterate now deals 250% weapon damage (up from 230% weapon damage). Rogues: Glyph of Redirect now reduces the cooldown of Redirect by 50 seconds (down from Redirect no longer has a cooldown). Other major changes are noted in red text, and we've summarized the biggest ones for you after the break:

  • Mists of Pandaria: Glyph changes from the latest beta build

Wowhead News has posted a huge list of changes in this most recent beta build, and it includes quite a few changes to glyphs. Since the glyph system is being retooled in Mists of Pandaria, it's not a surprise to see more changes as the beta progresses, and here are a few examples. Glyph of Mark of the Wild becomes Glyph of Charm Woodland Creature, which allows the druid to tame an ambient woodland creature for one hour. The Glyph of Feign Death is now the Glyph of Fireworks, now allowing you to shoot fireworks from your ranged weapon. Glyph of Shadowfiend is now the Glyph of Smallfiend, which summons three small Shadowfiends instead of one large one. The glyph changes all seem aimed at utility or cosmetic rewards, increasing customization instead of damage or healing dealt. (A few, like the Glyph of Death from Above, will increase damage.) This is in line with the new concept for glyphs, that they provide a cool visual or some minor survival benefit rather than raw power. Go check out these and other changes at Wowhead. It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. Jump into five new levels with new talents and class mechanics, try the new monk class, and create a pandaren character to ally with either Horde or Alliance. Look for expansion basics in our Mists FAQ, or dig into our spring press event coverage for more details!

  • WoW Patch 3.1 PTR Mage glyphs and changes

Good news, guys. Polymorph: Rabbit is finally here. You can stop writing angry letters to Blizzard; they've finally heard your pleas. On the PTRs for patch 3.1, you can now change your opponents into a rabbit, providing you a much-needed alternative to only being able to change them into a sheep, penguin, pig, turtle, black cat, serpent, or a smoldering pile of ash. I think I speak for everyone when I say: Thank God. We can only hope it'll cost a stupid amount of gold to procure.Aside from that (and I hope you can see the sarcasm dripping from every word up there), there just isn't that much to get excited about here for Mages. We were promised several things, and you'd have to be truly skilled at seeing silver linings to view any of the documented or undocumented changes we know about at this point as Blizzard even approaching delivery on any of those promises. I'm not thrilled.I'll go in depth on these changes in Saturday's Arcane Brilliance, and maybe we'll know more by then, but for now, let me list the changes with my brief impressions of them.
