In continuation of the Halo 3 Hayabusa armor saga comes word of another ninja armor permutation that can be unlocked to show your uber l33t pwnage skills ... a ninja sword! According to various post on the Bungie.net forums and around the internet is word that an un-usable, decoration-only ninja sword attached to your Spartan's back is unlocked when the player achieves a 1000 Gamerscore in Halo 3. And, as you can see in the picture above, the ninja sword goes perfectly with your Hayabusa armor and looks quite badass. But is the Hayabusa sword incentive enough to make you want to go out of your way to earn a 1000 Gamerscore in Halo 3? Answer: Yes, yes and yes. [Thanks, Glodek]

Well, it appears that the mystery of the Halo 3 Hayabusa helmet has already been solved with persistent fanboys over at Halo3Planet.com figuring out how to obtain the "I Would Have Been Your Daddy" skull. To refresh your memory, the IWHBYD skull was the only skull that needed to be found, because the Hayabusa helmet (as part of Halo 3's armor permutations) can only be unlocked when all thirteen Halo skulls have been found. Thus, IWHBYD is uber important. Anyhoo, like we said, the skull has been found and is quite the tricky little devil to get. Full instructions can be read over at Halo3Planet.com, but in brief you'll have to make your way to "The Covenant" level and jump through seven Halo holograms in order to play the Halo theme song music. Crazy huh? We're sure Bungie thought they could keep the wraps on the IWHBYD skull for a while, but never underestimate the fanaticism that is the Halo community. Now go, go get your thirteen skulls and unlock the Hayabusa helmet ... your l33t status is in jeopardy![Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

The guys over at The Xbox Domain posted a helpful little chart for Halo 3 players who want to unlock the various Halo armor permutations and just don't know how. The chart shows a preview of each armor variation and explains what you must do to unlock each armor piece. It's quite the nice informative guide. But there is still one mystery that has yet to be solved fanboys, because the sexy samurai Hayabusa helmet has yet to be found. Actually, it's universally accepted that the Hayabusa armor will be unlocked once the player has found all 13 Halo skulls, but that's where the problem lies. There is one elusive skull named "I Would Have Been Your Daddy" that nobody has found yet (Bungie brags that it's the hardest to find) and is supposedly the last key to unlocking the Hayabusa armor. So, if you're all about being famous within' the Halo community, find the last skull, unlock the Hayabusa armor, wear it proud and be the envy of all.

  • Master Chief's armor to be revised for Halo film

Newly anointed Halo director, Neill Blomkamp, has indicated that the iconic armor housing Master Chief will be slightly altered for its appearance in the 2008 film adaptation. Speaking to Ain't It Cool News, a confident Mr. Blomkamp successfully justifies a decision which, in the hands of a typical Hollywood hotshot, could quickly become a nightmarish reimagining of a beloved character into something supposedly more enticing to mainstream sensibilities. "Master Chief is certainly something that I do not want to change too much at all, there are certain things inside the Halo universe that are sacred and he's the main one. Having said that, there is a need to revise certain parts of him, just from a purely technical standpoint, he has to actually be able to move, like a human, and the game design right now does not allow for full motion freedom, which we will have to achieve."The interview sees the director affirming his love for the games, for the universe they depict and for "infected humans and covenant." He fails to provide definitive answers regarding the removal of Master Chief's helmet or the use of Bungie's original soundtracks in the film, but the inclusion or exclusion of either one is likely to fuel fan debate until well after the movie has come and gone. Rejected (and generally horrid) titles for this post: Master stroke: Master Chief armor changing Master Chief suit changing: oh no they didn't Master Chief: borg to be wild Master Chief armor change: Massive damage Master-ious costume change for Chief Master Chief says Halo to new armor Halo movie chief masters armor change Halo armor to be remastered [Thanks for the image, Ross. You'll go to hell for this one.]
