The advent of 3D printing is most certainly upon us, and its helped injection molding make the crucial transition from dated tech to a retro novelty. The Roto-a-Matic has recently gone live in toy maker Rotofugi's store in Chicago, and will create a polyethylene plastic figurine for you in under a minute, provided you feed it a token. Rotofugi and product design company Squibbles INK have given the vintage Mold-a-Rama vending machine a new lease of life, and now they are looking for artists to contribute designs for future molds. Currently a one-eyed dragon designed by sculptor Tim Biskup is on offer for Chicago-based hipsters, but for the wind-averse, a token-to-toy video demo resides beyond the fold.

  • Click KeyPad Watch is the timewasting retro-timepiece you've been waiting for

We do like a good indecipherable timepiece 'round these parts and Click's KeyPad certainly fits the bill. Resembling an old-school mechanical numerical keypad, each button packs an LED -- press any number and it'll blink out the time in single digits, so if it was 9:15am, the zero, nine, one and five buttons would flash in sequence. Push the hash key and the watch will oblige you for today's date. If you enjoy frustrating colleagues who ask you for the time, then you'll be delighted to hear that it costs $90 and is shipping now. However, we're not sure we could pull one off -- maybe the hipster down the street will have better success.

Haven't you heard? 8-bit is the new black. A trend that started with ThinkGeek's April-Fool's-turned-real-product neckties quickly spawned other accessories like watches and hair bows. Now, people with more money than sense can hop on the chiptune style-train as well, thanks to SAMAL Design's new line of pixelated glasses. The specs are available in two styles: "5dpi," which are based on hipster-friendly plastic 1980s Ray-Bans, and "6dpi," which are based on hipster-friendly 1980s dad-glasses. One pair will set you back 280-ish bucks, and will be precisely in style if American Apparel ever manages to produce an 8-bit v-neck.
