Remember EA's Humble Origin Bundle and how the publisher vowed to donate its share of the proceeds to charity? EA COO Peter Moore tweeted the above picture this week of himself presenting a $1.65 million cut of the proceeds to the American Cancer Society. The Origin Bundle's launch followed Moore's insistence that EA could "do better" just before it won its second consecutive Golden Poo award. It would be interesting to see a full breakdown of the Humble Origin Bundle's revenue, but it's nice to at least see this sliver of the results, especially when EA isn't necessarily raking in cash for themselves.

More than 2.1 million bundles sold, over $10.5 million for charities. Those are the staggering statistics the EA-sponsored Humble Origin Bundle signed off on this week, easily becoming the most successful Humble Bundle with more than double of the prior best-seller. The bundle allowed customers to purchase a collection of EA games on PC, including blockbusters like Dead Space 3, Burnout Paradise, Mirror's Edge, Battlefield 3, and several others at a pay-what-you-want price. The two-week campaign raised an amazing eight figures in funding for various charities, including The American Red Cross, The San Francisco Aids Foundation, and The Human Rights Campaign among others. Caps doffed all round, we feel.

The Electronic Arts-sponsored Humble Origin Bundle has earned over $8.6 million in charity donations since its launch earlier this month, breaking previous sales records and emerging as the biggest-selling Humble Bundle offering to date. The record surpasses last year's Humble Indie Bundle V, which took in $5.1 million over the course of its two-week campaign. The Humble Origin Bundle collects EA's Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space 3, Medal of Honor, Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 in a pay-what-you-want package. Buyers have the option of dividing their purchase price between several featured charities. The collection recently added Bullfrog's 1989 strategy game Populous and 2009's RTS Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising to its lineup of "beat the average" purchase incentives. The Humble Origin Bundle will remain available through next Wednesday.

Huh, well would you look at that! It's a Humble Bundle, only it's made entirely out of EA games. Weird! Specifically, a dollar or more will net you Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crysis 2 Maximum Edition, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space 3 and Medal of Honor. Paying above the average (currently hovering around $5) also unlocks Battlefield 3 and The Sims 3 "+ Starter Pack." Steam keys are available for Dead Space, Burnout Paradise, Crysis 2, Medal of Honor and Mirrors Edge, while the rest of the games on offer can only be delivered as Origin codes. Unlike most Bundles, however, which are split three-ways between a charity, the publisher/developer and the Humble folks, the Humble Origin Bundle is only being split between charities and the Humble Bundle organizers – EA takes no cut. The Humble Bundle folks have already tweeted that this bundle has surpassed $100,000 faster than any other in its history, so things seem like they're off to a good start for a good cause.
