Sprint Nextel's iDEN network shares a lot in common with the rugged phones offered for it: no matter what you do to it, it doesn't seem to die. The new i570 laughs in the face of iDEN / CDMA hybrid and Qchat technologies, kicking it totally old-school with a straight up iDEN implementation that hearkens back to a simpler (read: less interesting) time. Features include integrated GPS, teeny, tiny color primary and monochrome external displays, and a ruggedized shell only a mother could love. Grab it now for a shade under $100 on contract after rebates.[Via Phone Scoop]

If there's one thing we'd like more than a Rumor with fixed firmware, it's a Rumor in green. Alright, that's a little bit of a stretch, but it looks like we're going to get one nonetheless; Sprint's latest Playbook is circulating among the ranks, revealing a supposed green Rumor dropping on February 17. The pink Centro we've heard so much about should be available on January 13 alongside a red version of the BlackBerry Pearl 8130, the first in-store appearance of the Sanyo S1 candybar, and a new iDEN piece in the form of the Motorola i570. Keeping the green Rumor company on the 17th of next month will be the Samsung m520 slider (yay?) and -- maybe most notably of the whole lot -- the Samsung Ace, Sprint's answer to the whole BlackJack craze.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Symbian fanboys and fangirls digging the i620's QWERTY slider form factor probably want to take a good, hard look at this, a device from Samsung that's rumored to be the SGH-i570 replete with Symbian 9.1 -- S60, we'd imagine, given Samsung's history with the platform. MobilMania reports that the i570 will be equipped with 160MB of memory on board plus microSD expansion, WiFi, HSDPA, and a 2 megapixel primary cam all wrapped up in a 16mm shell. We can hope that this one has any chance of making a US debut, but let's be honest, we'd probably be setting ourselves up for disappointment.[Via Slashphone]
