According to VG247, Activision has no plans to add Lips wireless microphone support to Guitar Hero World Tour. Now, we could understand their unwillingness to support the Lips mics if they were poorly constructed or if it'd be some overwhelming task to take on. But the one thing (and possibly only thing) Lips has going for it are stellar peripherals and we don't believe releasing a game patch would be all that time consuming.Shame on you World Tour. At least Rock Band recognizes the value of colorfully lit mics.

It's nice to see that after all these years, the guys from Mega64 haven't lost the ability to get out there into the public and just really irritate people. Nothing fancy, no higher purpose, just getting on people's nerves for the sheer enjoyment of you, the Internet. In a tribute to Elite Beat Agents, they've added musical accompaniment to the numerous shots of agitated humans who look like they'd like nothing more than to see the three suit-clad gentlemen in front of them die and rot forever in the bowels of Hell. ... Except for thumbs-up guy at the end, he seems like he's feeling it. Check it out after the jump.

What gift do we want most this year? The ability to get the Lips ... "lips" out of our minds forever. That likely being impossible due to their (its?) extremely disturbing nature, we'll settle for some holiday ballads as DLC for the game. Oh, look, Microsoft has some, as promised! Here's what's going to be available, this week and next – complete with original, holiday-themed videos – "starting at" 160 ($2). We note a disturbing lack of Adam Sandler's "Hanukkah Song."Friday, Dec. 5 Blue Christmas – Elvis Presley The Dreidel Song – Sister Hazel It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year – Andy Williams Friday, Dec.12 Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer – Gene Autry Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee A Holly Jolly Christmas – Burl Ives The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You) – Nat King Cole Santa Baby – Kylie Minogue White Christmas – Bing Crosby Hanukkah Blessings – Barenaked Ladies

Announced during E3 with the glitz and excess of a live performance by Welsh singer Duffy, it was obvious that Lips was Microsoft's attempt to create a music platform for the Xbox that would lure in the same gaming crowd as Sony's SingStar. With the promise of karaoke party fun, high tech motion controlled microphones and images of walking lips seared into our brains, we took Microsoft's Lips for a musical romp. We're a little very confused as to what Microsoft is attempting to achieve through this TV spot for its karaoke title, Lips, which releases this week. Is it trying to sell the game – or cure any suffering narcoleptics who happen to see it of their inability to stay awake? If the latter's the case, we salute Microsoft on trying to make life better for sufferers of the condition. If not, and it's just a video game ad, we're not sure people will even want to leave their houses to buy the game, for fear of running into this ... thing. Or even ordering Lips online ... only to have a bipedal mouth appear at their door, the package clutched in its teeth.Weird, wonderful, or WTF? Watch the spot after the break and tell us what you think.

  • Lips microphone won't work with other games

Talking to MTV Multiplayer, Lips creator and Inis developer Keiichi Yano mentioned that the Lips accelerometer microphone will not work with any other music games at launch, but is optimistic that it'll be compatible with other titles in the future. "It's not something we can do, obviously [the games would require a patch]. I mean, I hope so for Rock Band, Guitar Hero. It won't work out of the box but it's relatively easy to kind of get it going."So, the light up Lips microphone and its compatibility with other musical titles lies in both Harmonix and Activision's hands. They'd have to release patches for their games which we think they totally should. Everyone pretty much agrees that the wireless Lips microphones are teh sexy and teh awesomez.
