Baron Soosdon is a classic machinimist. Not only did he help create so many of the techniques and styles we are accustomed to seeing, but he's been a mainstay support of the entire community. Baron Soosdon is just pretty awesome. I'm So Sick is a favorite video of many. It enjoys the highly stylized, artistic feel that is shared by most of Soosdon's creations but also features some incredible model work. Ultimately, even if you don't dig the music, I'm So Sick should stand out visually as incredible machinima. I feel that the Baron's done more than simply create an artistic video; the narration seems to happen in a wholly new, exciting world. This has been featured before, of course, but the video is strong enough to deserve a second look. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at machinima@wow.com.

(Today's Moviewatch features videos of the WoW Bitfilm contestants asking for votes, however we are not suggesting you vote for anyone in particular. We are only showcasing them as they pertain to WoW. As there are fans of all platforms here, we know that you will make your choice based on your own preference. In addition, despite the image on Olibith's video before you play it, it is harmless.)The World of Warcraft Bitfilm Festival nominees are really working hard for their votes! With just a little over a month left to vote, they've each created a video pleading their case. We previously wrote about their chance to win 1500 Euros earlier this month. The first one on the scene was Olibith, with a sentimental video about the contest, set to the Carpenters. Next up was Baron Soosdon, letting you know that if you don't vote for him, a "terrible curse" will fall upon you. The only one missing was Dopefish, whom I had to chase down to make a video in order to be fair.If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...See the Olibith and Dopefish vote videos, as well as a full list of the nominees after the jump ...

Continuing the Chronicles of Spellborn love, reader Garold (who sent us the last CoS video) finds a new video for us to enjoy. Currently being seen on TenTonHammer, this is a music video of Holland-based group Within Temptation (who provided in-game music), featuring scenery, gameplay, and ... spaceships? Apparently there's more to Spellborn than previously revealed. This video makes us think of I'm So Sick, though nothing can touch that video's quality. Still, it's definitely worth watching for a continued look at what we can expect when this MMO makes it to market.[Thanks, Garold!]

  • Baron Soosdon: "I will make a plot-line movie someday"

SugarChick at Warcraft Chicks had a nice chat with Baron Soosdon, the machinimaker (did I just make that term up?) who's put together such machinima classics as Sin City Azeroth and I'm So Sick. He talks about the best way to view his films (by downloading-- YouTube, while easy, just doesn't have the quality he calls for), where his name came from (a guild inside joke about his character's name and a Baron Geddon raid), and the way he puts his films together. He says that he's gotten a little bit of flak for not having a lot of traditional plots or scripts-- his Unlimited Escapism series, he says, will never have a plot to it, and he likes it that way. He also says, however, that he does plan to make a "plot-line movie" at some point, but he wants it to be extremely high quality, both in terms of filmmaking, writing, and voice actors. Soosdon's stuff is terrific even as disjointed as it is, but a more traditional plot-based film from him would definitely be interesting to see.But he says he's not giving up on the freeform stuff, and thank goodness for that. The Baron's definitely a one-of-a-kind machinimaker (there's that made-up word again), and it's cool to hear directly from the man himself.

WarcraftMovies ran a Halloween Machinima contest this year. Baron Soosdon of I'm So Sick and Unlimited Escapism fame came in second place with this horrific tale of corruption and mayhem. The Baron has been criticized in the past for lack of narrative. This time, he created a film that followed one man's journey into the heart of darkness, and the terrifying consequences. It's on the bloody side, so if you don't like slasher flicks, I wouldn't recommend viewing this one.As usual, avoid the embedded stream for Baron movies and check out the Stage 6 link for high quality picture.Previously on Moviewatch....
