By participating in the Peanut Butter and Shelley fundraiser tomorrow, Saturday, from 3–7PM ET, you'll be helping a deserving Joystiq Podcast Appreciation Group member cover his wife's overwhelming medical bills. That's the most important thing, and if you want to claim that's why you're getting involved, we won't blow up your spot. But you should know that you'll also have a shot at a list of rad prizes being raffled off, including a ton of games, DVDs and comics, an original Alan Black photochop, crocheted goods and so, so much more. Help for whatever reason you like, but giving generously may just be one of your last chances to get right before the upcoming Rapture. Make sure you don't miss it.

Last Friday, amidst a chorus of laughs and tears, the Joystiq Podcast shuffled into oblivion to make room for the forthcoming Joystiq Show. But, against all odds, the nigh-4K-member-strong Joystiq Podcast Appreciation Group lives on, even founding a new home at Ning. Better yet, the JPAG has told us they won't recognize the existence of The Joystiq Show, as JSAG sounds "stupid." ... Yeah, they're real sweethearts. Membership is free, unlike the first group, which forced you to trade away a precious shard of your soul by signing up for Facebook. Go, register, and make yourself at home!

Announced as a Rock Band Network release during PAX East, the Joystiq Podcast opening theme, "Gravity (Don't Let Me Go)," is now available for the Xbox 360 version of the Rock Band platform for 80 ($1). As with all RBN releases, the playable song can be demoed before purchase. The RBN version of the track, an update of the show theme, was authored for the game by Rock Band-alums The Main Drag and will also appear on Jon Black's upcoming EP The Beginning (Up From The Ground Vol. 1), available April 27. Joystiq Podcast host Justin McElroy wants fans of the show and of music to download the track immediately, saying, "If you're not using your fingers to play 'Gravity (Don't Let Me Go)' on Rock Band, just cut them off and choke yourself with them." RBN currently hosts around 210 songs, which are listed here. Now go drop "Gravity" onto your console.

  • iPhone It In: bitFLIP

I first heard about iPhone pseudo-puzzler bitFLIP from the game's developer, Metamoorephosis Games owner (and JPAG member) Josh Hernandez. I'd be remiss to not mention upfront the hesitation with which I approached reviewing said game for iPhone It In, given the development source being a Joystiq reader and podcast listener. It was a convenient delight then when I first loaded the game up on my 3G and had a thoroughly enjoyable time playing it. Though a truly egregious boot time put me off from playing bitFLIP during my every free moment over the two or so weeks I spent with the game (that time was reserved for Canabalt), I was still anxious to play it when my free time was longer than a scant few moments. Mixing interesting puzzle mechanics, great music, a truly unique (and often beautiful) visual presentation, and a variety of gameplay options, I can confidently say that there's more than enough enjoyable gaming to be had here to warrant your two bucks. %Gallery-78849%
