LG unveils new 3D glasses, hopes lighter and better looking spectacles drive adoption
LG's FPR 3DTVs already featured lighter, cheaper passive 3D glasses than their active shutter competition, but next year the company will push its advantage even further with these new models. The three options available include the F310 (at right, above) which it says weighs 20 percent less than last year's default and are curved more for a better fit, the F320 (left) clip-on design for glasses-wearers and Alain Mikli-designed (the guy who made Kanye's shutter shades, among other high-end eyeglasses) F360 half-rim frames (middle). It also rolled out a press release trumpeting new Smart TV features for 2012, but beyond the updated remote and confirmation of Intel WiDi integration, it's pretty short on details. We're not seeing any Google TV tie-ins here, LG is focusing on its homegrown ecosystem which it says now offers 1,200 apps (of course, that probably includes the thousand or so recently added via its deal with Chumby). There's no word on pricing for the glasses, but after this and announcing a 55-inch OLED prototype, we're wondering what else the Lucky Goldstar folks will have up their sleeves at CES. %Gallery-142471%
Kanye West scheduled to close out Call of Duty XP
Confession time: We really can't play Call of Duty -- or any other shooter franchise, for that matter -- without Kanye West's "Power" playing in the background. We simply can't do it. No other ditty is capable of eliciting so much badass juice from our action glands. Luckily, Activision understands this deep physiological need, and has booked the hip-hop icon for the Call of Duty XP convention on the night of Saturday, September 3. This will be the first time West has performed since the release of his musical collaboration with Jay-Z, "Watch the Throne." We can't wait to see him perform our favorite singles from the LP, including "Keep an Eye On the Seat," and "Hey, Check Out This Totally Fancy Chair."

iPad as concert camera is kind of crazy
Concert shots from a mobile device are enjoyable to take and so much fun to look at when the event is over. Those grainy pictures seem to capture the excitement of the moment, and you can't help but look cool when thrusting your mobile device in the air to snag an impromptu shot. That is unless your mobile device is an iPad2. Check out the following video spotted by Gizmodo and watch in shocked bemusement at the single person holding up an iPad 2 to take a picture of Kanye West in concert (at 00:24). Looking more like a luncheon tray whose reflective properties could blind the performer on stage, the brave soul holds his or her iPad 2 into the air subjecting it to all sorts of peril. One simple bump and the iPad could go crashing to the floor where it would be trampled by the dancing throng. Not to mention that waving an iPad 2 in the air is just asking for someone to steal this highly desirable and hard to find device. It also makes you wonder where the person is storing the iPad 2 when they are not taking pictures? In a front pack, back pack or an iPad-sized fanny pack? WoW Moviewatch: Power Cataclysm remix
This is a parody of Kanye West's Power. It seems like a send-up motivation for the guild Elysiam to help them get ready for Cataclysm. If you're familiar with the original song by Kanye West, then you will probably recognize most of the lyrics in this parody. Kayhettin did a good job of parody Kanye's original vocal style, even tailoring it a bit toward the kind of voice acting you hear in WoW. The challenge with this kind of video is that it plays off the original video. While I'm not a Kanye West fan normally, the original video for Power is actually kind of amazing. It was highly stylized, beautiful to watch, and chock full of symbols and allegory. It's so good that I had challenges ignoring my knowledge of the original while watching this parody. It's up to each viewer to decide whether the parody is a success, but I couldn't stop thinking about Power's actual video. Interested in the wide world of machinima? Blood Sport: Patch 3.2.2, the times they are a-changin, Part II
In keeping with our musical theme, here's David Bowie's Changes. Most of you have probably heard it, but most of us have not really listened to it. Take some time to enjoy one of Bowie's most renowned pieces with the article today.Last time, I went over a few significant arena modifications that 3.2.2 brought us. Square pillars for line-of-sight, the armor penetration nerf, focus frames, flying in battlegrounds, and the Onyxia loot table can be found here.This article is going to talk about five of the nine classes discussed in the 3.2.2 patch notes (warlocks were left out). The reason we won't be talking about the other four is sheer article size. I'm not getting blamed for breaking anyone's scroll wheel today! We'll go over death knights, hunters, druids, and mages in the second part of this part II (which should be in a day or two).I'm giving analysis on class changes; I hope we will agree on most things, but if you disagree or decide I don't understand a mechanic properly, please let me know in the comments below. Making the most of Preview.app for image editing
Inspired by Bear Grylls's (of Discovery's Man vs. Wild) "make the most out of your situation" scenarios, I present you with a tutorial for making the most out of Preview.app. While not as powerful as graphics editing powerhouse Adobe Photoshop, Preview can oftentimes get you from Point A to Point B -- and sometimes quicker too. Like Bear Grylls, you'll need to parachute out of a plane and into the house of a friend who doesn't have Photoshop -- just kidding. First, a little bit of background. Preview comes pre-installed on Mac OS X, and it's the default image viewer on the system. For PC-to-Mac converts, you could think of it as the Microsoft Paint of OS X; except that it can do a whole lot more. Besides the ability to open a host of image file formats (JPG, BMP, GIF, among them, and even PSD and AI files), Preview can also open PDF files natively. I actually prefer it over Adobe Acrobat for opening PDFs, as I find that they open much quicker using Preview. And like Adobe Reader, Preview contains advanced features, such as annotating.
Smule turns you into T-Pain
God bless Smule. I panned their Ocarina app way back, but since then they've pushed right along without me, releasing idea after idea on Apple's App Store. And I think that, though the Leaf Trombone didn't really capture my attention, this one might finally be the big winner in my book: they've released I am T-Pain, an app that will automatically Auto-tune you into the style of some of the rapper's top songs, with more purchaseable within the app. There's even a "freestyle" mode, complete with a few unreleased background tracks to jam with -- as you can see above, all you do is talk into the iPhone's mic, and you can autotune the news or whatever else you want. Shawwwwty! Silly? Maybe, but they're going to sell a million of these, and given that Smule's apps tend to be easy to pick up and fun to play with, even people who aren't familiar with T-Pain's work will probably get the app just to sing a few bars to see what it sounds like (you can also send those messages off to Facebook or email as well). And Smule is moving right up into the iPhone 3.0 era: the app comes with four songs, and there are four more available to purchase in-app, along with even more (and more popular: Kanye's "Good Life" and the Lonely Island's "On a Boat" track are due out soon) songs coming, complete with lyrics and auto-tune settings and timings in the future. Maybe you're laughing. Maybe you think this is dumb, and you've already had enough of auto-tune on pop radio, and don't really want it in your iPhone, too. But trust me on this one: Smule is a company that's made silly music experiences on the iPhone extremely popular, and having T-Pain's tunes and auto-tuning abilities (officially from the company behind the pro version, too) available in this app is going to make it big, no question. The app's available right now for $2.99, so pick it up if you're feeling the beat and want to sing, even if you can't. Yeahhh-eeeyeaahh-yeah.
Kanye West once tried to sex up Mario
The very best (read: easiest) posts are the ones that no amount of clever presentation could make any funnier -- in fact, any effort to do so could only fail miserably. Observe: "My game was very sexual," Kanye West told Details magazine, describing a hack he attempted to make on a home computer as a child. "The main character was, like, a giant penis. It was like Mario Brothers, but the ghosts were, like, vaginas. You'd have to draw in and program every little step. It literally took me all night to do a step, 'cause the penis, y'know, had little feet and eyes." ... What's that, it's quittin' time at the blogging factory already? Well, thank you, Mr. West.
Kanye West fails to single-handedly save B&O's handset biz
Looks like Bang and Olufsen might have a harder time getting out of the cellphone game than it thought -- especially now that Kanye's throwing cash at it. Yep, Yeezy just picked up the year-old Serenata in Singapore, and he's thoughtfully posted up some unboxing pics for us. We thought the Samsung-built handset was a hot little number when we played with it back in January at CES, but we've moved on since then -- it's a triband dumbphone, after all. WoW Moviewatch: Gold Farmer
Egad Pit has a message to all the ladies of WoW out there. He's on to you! Gold Farmer is a parody of Gold Digger, by Kanye West. This machinima short is really rough around the edges, and Egad is no rapper, but it's a funny look at something that we can all relate to.The video is about a guy that runs into a girl who shows up at opportune moments when raiding and always walks away with blue items. His friends catch on quick to the girl's scam, but this poor guy didn't know what hit him until it was too late. Roll need girl. Go 'head, roll need!Previously on Moviewatch...
Kanye is October's Artist of the Month
There has been a bit of a drought as it pertains to the Xbox Live Artist of the Month campaign, but the musical rains have started to trickle again with Kanye West becoming October's Artist of the Month.In celebration of his MTV Music Awards win the release of his album Graduation and chart topping singles "Stronger" and "Can't Tell Me Nothing", Kanye struts onto the XBLM with free music video downloads ... erm, so we thought. According to Xbox.com there are supposed to be music videos up on the Marketplace as free downloads, but after taking a gander through the XBLM we found it to be Kanye'less. Oh well, maybe in a few hours, days, or weeks the Xbox Live Gods will come around and upload the music video goodness. And we can't wait, because we love those white sunglasses he sports in his "Stronger" video. Window blinds sunglasses FTW!

On my console, it's an easy 3:1.
