If the nearly eight-minute PlayStation 4 event presentation of Killzone: Shadow Fall is too much time to focus on one thing, here's the one-minute version of the same demo. Since last week we've learned Killzone is a PS4 launch title and could be visually in-line with what we've seen demoed.
Killzone: Shadow Fall trailer analyzed by Digital Foundry
Digital Foundry's critical eye for tech has placed its gaze upon the presentation for Killzone: Shadow Fall from last week's PlayStation 4 reveal. It was a curiously bold choice that Sony tied together its new hardware with Killzone again, since the E3 2005 presentation of Killzone 2 was a tech generation off from hitting what was shown at the time."All material we have available suggests that the new PS4 Killzone runs at a rock-solid 30 frames per second at 1080p full HD resolution," notes Digital Foundry. It notes all the Killzone material it has from the presentation is limited to 30FPS, but there's nothing stopping devs from going higher, it's just not what was presented.They continue, "Based on specs alone, the PS4 clearly has far more to offer than what we're seeing, and it's worth remembering that Guerrilla would have developed a large chunk of Shadow Fall on incomplete hardware."Check out the full analysis at Eurogamer.
PS4 demo with Killzone: Shadow Fall on Jimmy Fallon
The Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show got the first PS4 demo outside of the PlayStation event this morning, and it saw Killzone: Shadow Fall taking the limelight. Guerrilla Games managing director Hermen Hulst first showed off the DualShock 4 controller before taking Fallon and guest Anthony Anderson through a hands-on demo of Shadow Fall.While the three-minute demo was essentially the same sequence showcased in the reveal trailer, a couple of interesting morsels did emerge. While talking about the greater range of possibilities with the PS4's boosted hardware, Hulst noted the demo's climbing segment as something Guerrilla wasn't "able to do with Killzone before." Secondly, we got a clearer look at Shadow Fall's slowdown mechanic in action, which Hulst called "Focus Mode."Also, as much as we'd prefer to see useful footage of just-announced hardware, we did snigger at Anderson pointing the controller all over the shop like a man trying to hold on to a wriggly kitten. What good is a hands-on demo, Mr Anderson, if you're unable to play it?Killzone: Shadow Fall is coming to the PS4 at launch, which is due Holiday 2013.
Killzone: Shadow Fall confirmed as PS4 launch game
Killzone: Shadow Fall is one of the PS4's launch games, developer Guerrilla Games revealed. Posting on the PlayStation Blog, Guerrilla senior producer Steven Ter Heide spilled the beans on the first Killzone entry to release alongside a PlayStation console."Today we are happy we can finally show you what we have been working on," Heide said. "It has been an amazing journey for us so far, being offered the opportunity to be a launch title for the new PlayStation, and the subsequent mild panic to figure out how to best handle all of that. But being able to now share it with you is both a scary and proud moment. We are hoping you will like what we have created, and are happy to present you with the first glimpse of Killzone: Shadow Fall."Shadow Fall will be joined at the PS4's launch by Watch Dogs, and likely also by DriveClub from Motorstorm team Evolution Studios. The LinkedIn profile of the DriveClub senior environment artist Jeremy P Miller describes the game as a "PlayStation 4 launch title." We've reached out to Sony for comment.%Gallery-179475%

Killzone: Shadow Fall announced for PlayStation 4 [Update]
Killzone: Shadow Fall is the latest entry in Sony's flagship shooter series. Guerilla Games' Herman Holtz likened the game's setting to Cold Wa-era Berlin "The helghast have evolved and claimed genetic superiority.
