Click for King Hippo-sized images Nintendo has sent over some new screens for next month's Punch-Out!!, depicting pretty much what you'll see in the game when it's spinning inside your Wii: Little Mac punching the crap out of everyone. Fan-favorites King Hippo, Von Kaiser, and Glass Joe make an appearance in our gallery below. But, there's also a surprise fight with newcomer Disco Kid. The new Punch-Out!! features motion controls, sure, but that may not be enough immersion for you. Luckily, Nintendo and Amazon have just the thing for you if you want to really feel what it's like not only to fight King Hippo, but to be King Hippo. Or even to fight one King Hippo on the screen and another on your desk, while dressed as King Hippo!The Amazon-exclusive Punch-Out!! Heavyweight Contender Kit includes a replica King Hippo crown and boxer shorts (belly-button bandages not included), as well as an inflatable desktop King Hippo punching bag and a "Doc Louis Remedy Chocolate Bar." Punch-Out!! rated by ESRB, still coming 'first half 2009'
Readying Soda Popinski for battle with everyone's favorite underdog, Little Mac, takes time, folks. Today though, It seems that Nintendo may be getting closer to releasing the next iteration in the now aging series, Punch-Out!!, with the ESRB having officially rated the game as "Everyone 10+."Though we've yet to get our hands into Nintendo's punching gloves and see if the game's any good, based on screenshots and the little video we've seen we can wholeheartedly say (tongue fully in cheek) OMG PUNCH-OUT KING HIPPO AHHHH!1!11! Considering that the game's set for a "first half 2009" release window in Europe and the U.S., it has to be coming soon, right?Sorry to say this 9-year-olds, but it's time to suck it up and be patient. There's a lot to be excited about from Nintendo's latest press conference. One of the things we've been extremely excited about is a new Punch-Out!! game. We can tell the game will include a couple of classic enemies, including King Hippo, Von Kaiser and Glass Joe. We were wondering, though, who you'd like to take on in the upcoming game. What boxers from the original Punch-Out!!, as well as Super Punch-Out!!, would you like to take on in the new game?
