American McGee's Grimm is now available on Steam. Developed by Spicy Horse, the game includes 23 half-hour-long episodes based on fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood, The Golden Goose, Cinderella, Pinnochio, Sleeping Beauty and Jack and the Beanstalk. The developer stresses that the contained episodes can be enjoyed in any order, so players that want to see the "darkly twisted" side of Cinderella can start with that. The 23 episodes are available for 99 cents apiece ($25.77 total when purchased individually). Players can buy the first eight-episode season for $3.99, which is listed at $8.00 on Spicy Horse's website. Otherwise, the game's complete pack is available for $9.99. American McGee's Grimm first launched for Windows in July 2008, and arrived on Steam's Greenlight service in July 2013.

I'm not super clear on what's happening in Little Red Riding Hood since it's not in English and doesn't have subtitles. But I do know this video is awesome, and I've watched enough that I think I can piece together most of the plot. The story seems to go like this. Little Red Riding Hood is a gnome. The Big Bad Wolf is an orc rogue who ganks her. So Little Red Riding Hood gets some hunter training and recruits a bunny pet. Then the bunny pet kills the orc. With a story like that, you know the video has to be ridiculously fun, so check it out. Insert your own "Run away, little girl!" sounds for authenticity. Interested in the wide world of machinima? • The Perfect Ten: Guild Wars 2 gravestone epitaphs

The dead tell the best stories, they say. Outside of Divinity's Reach in Guild Wars 2 is a graveyard. It's the type of place that you run through quickly on your way to more lively settings, unless a zombie attack emerges. It was the type of place that I was running through quickly during the previous beta weekend when I realized that the gravestones could be examined -- and each and every one of them had an interesting epitaph to read. Some crazy ArenaNet writer sat down one afternoon and wrote out dozens and dozens of gravestone inscriptions on the off-chance that any of us would slow down enough to read them. It paid off in my case. This may be one of the most trivial Perfect Tens I've ever done, so forgive me with being absolutely fascinated by the epitaphs that came up during my explorations. With an absolute economy of words, each gravestone tells a complete story. Some are funny, some are dark, some play into the lore, and some actually managed to be quite moving. Here are my 10 most favorite that I found. Maybe they'll haunt you as they do me.

Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ never made it to retail in Europe, instead being released as a DSiWare download. Even though it did come out on a cartridge in North America, EnjoyUp is releasing the DSiWare version anyway, giving Zombie BBQ the unique honor of being available both digitally and in a box. Said DSiWare release will occur next Monday, December 13. Look forward to having two convenient options for fulfilling your Red Riding Hood-blasting-the-undead needs. Check out an oddly windowed trailer after the break.

  • American McGee's Little Red Riding Hood looks pretty Grimm

click here for full version Legendary game developer American McGee has posted concept for the Little Red Riding Hood game he's planning to pitch to publishers at GDC 2010 next week -- and wow, Little Red has never looked quite so badass. The art, put together by a few artists at the Spicy Horse Games studio, features a white-haired little girl embedding an axe (almost bigger than she is) in a demonic wolf's skull. McGee probably has a pitch of his own all set up, but we look at a pic like that and can't help but think, "My, what complicated weapon combos you must have." All the better to get published with, we suppose. We'll be at GDC en masse next week, so we'll do our best to corner Mr. McGee and see if he willing to tell us any more about this not-simply-fractured-but-actually-mauled fairytale. If this is what the little girl looks like, just wait until we see the Hunter. [via GSW]

  • Be a sheep or a wolf in Secondhand Lands

Little Bo Peep and Little Red Riding Hood have had a score to settle for decades, and now you get the chance to help them do it in Callipygian Games's Secondhand Lands. Choose to play as either a sheep for Bo Peep or a wolf for Little Red in this casual MMO designed for "the disillusioned 'Mega-MMO' veteran who wants more interaction with the developers in their gaming experience."This game is in closed beta and is being distributed by Pixel Mine, with a release date of Fall of this year. Check out the site; there's a little webtoy that lets you trick out your wolf or sheep with stylin' gear. That should be enough to tide anyone over until the actual game hits.

Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ, formerly just Zombie BBQ, keeps looking better and better. We have a habit of championing strange titles, and we'll make no exception with this fairy tale shoot-em-up! How did developer Enjoy Up (Chronos Twins) come up with the idea to recreate Little Red Riding Hood as a busty blonde with a machine gun and a penchant for blasting down undead wolves? And what spark of imagination convinced the studio to team her up with Momo "PeachBoy" Taro, a ninja born from a peach and armed with a grenade launcher? Genius, all of it.Publisher Gammick Entertainment has launched an official site for the game, and, in addition to its wicked trailer, the hub has some great profiles for its zombified fairy tale characters, like ablood-thirsty cyborg Pinocchio and a flesh-eating Sleeping Beauty. Check out some of the other undead creatures and twenty new screenshots in our gallery below!%Gallery-19218%

  • Zombie BBQ concept (un)lives up to its awesome name

"Once upon a time there was a fantastic world where fairy tale creatures dwelt and all was peace and harmony ... till the zombies came to eat out their brains!" What an introduction! Despite the entertaining scenarios we came up with to accompany Zombie BBQ's name, we doubted that the actual project would satisfy our hopes. After all, Barcelona-based Gammick is a newcomer publisher, and developer Enjoy Up's last release, Chronos Twins, didn't capture the hearts of many gamers. With those concerns now out of the way, we're happy to report that Zombie BBQ is definitely worth your interest! In this unique title, you play as a gun-toting Little Red Riding Hood in a vertical-scrolling shooter (think Gunsmoke), blasting an array of monsters that have invaded "Fairy Tale land."We have a collection of screenshots and artwork in the gallery below (the better to show you, dear readers!), so skip on over and start clicking. Zombie BBQ is scheduled to hit stores this October, just in time for Halloween!%Gallery-19218%
