  • Hole in the Wall games officially headed to Kinect

It's hard to imagine Microsoft having even more Kinect games in the wings than were shown at its Kinect-centric E3 presentation, but there's at least one that didn't make it on stage: Hole in the Wall. The adaptation of the TV game show (about trying to fit through hilariously shaped cutouts in walls moving toward you) showed up in ratings last month, and has only now been announced by publisher Ludia. It'll be out on XBLA this summer, with single and online multiplayer, and " hilarious bonus videos from the TV show." But there's an unexpected twist! According to the press release, the deal with TV show producer Fremantle Media is for Hole in the Wall games, plural, and the release specifies that the first Hole in the Wall game is due this summer. It's a series.

  • 'Kinect Me,' 'Crimson Alliance' among new Microsoft games rated

A trio of game ratings appeared on the Australian Classification website today, perhaps spoiling some of the titles Microsoft will announce just around the corner at E3. New entries for "Crimson Alliance," "Fusion: Genesis" and "Kinect Me" all list Microsoft as publisher and run the gamut from Mature-rated to PG to G. Only the Crimson Alliance page notes a developer, Certain Affinity, which is corroborated by the game's Brazilian classification. Likewise a rating for Fusion: Genesis has also shown up in Brazil, where both titles are listed for Xbox Live Arcade. Kinect Me remains the most mysterious of the mystery titles and could perhaps feature some connection to the kinect.me promotional site (pictured above) that's been live since last summer. A source tells Siliconera to expect an E3 announcement of "Kinect Fun Lab," which the site surmises could be a working title for Kinect Me -- both names are at least sufficiently generic-sounding to be one and the same game. Additionally, Brazil has classified two more Xbox Live Arcade titles, Fruit Ninja Kinect and Hole in the Wall (from Ludia), supporting previous ratings of the pair of pending releases.

Classic game show Press Your Luck will have a video game incarnation available starting tomorrow, August 24, on PSN. The game features online and couch co-op for up to three people, along with solo play and over 2,500 trivia questions. The game will likely be $10, but we'll have to wait for confirmation tomorrow. Sadly, the video game based on the '80s game show does not feature announcer Rod Roddy nor host Peter Tomarken, who died in 2003 and 2006, respectively. However, it does feature the Whammy, whose lifeforce is filled through human suffering and a steady diet of $100 bills. Check out a video of the game after the break.

  • CBS bringing Diagnosis Murder, some other stuff to gaming platforms

CBS announced today that it's bringing a wide array of its TV programming to the video game world, mainly via the PC, Wii and DS. As you can see after the break, the company revealed equally insipid-sounding game versions of Survivor, Hollywood Squares, The Amazing Race, and Criminal Minds, but we don't see how we're supposed to care about any of it when it was also revealed that a Diagnosis Murder game is in the works. We're assuming it's a Visceral-developed "dark" take on the DM mythos, with a Gothic Dr. Mark Sloan walking a demonic version of Los Angeles, solving murder mysteries with a caduceus-shaped staff dipped in angel blood. We assume this because we laid out the design doc pretty clearly in our letters, and we can't fathom why CBS would want to disappoint us.

Listen, guys. Warner Bros. Interactive is going to need a ton of money if it wants to provide marketing support for Scribblenauts when it comes out this September. Without these ads, the game may not sell well, which could injure our chances of ever getting future 'nauts titles. To ensure that we never encounter such a terrible future, we have an unpleasant task we must entrust you with: You need to go pre-order the recently announced video game adaptations of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette that WBI is publishing. We know -- you've been holding out for a video game adaptation of Rock of Love Bus. However, with Hell's Kitchen developer Ludia Inc. in charge of development, this pair of titles will ... okay, they're going to be awful. Still, you guys owe us. Remember that incident in Little Tokyo we helped you out of? Yeah, you do. Better get moving -- Gamestop's only open 'til nine.

  • Where's Waldo? On Wii, DS, PC, and Mac this September

Finally, for those of us waiting since 1992's The Great Waldo Search for a new console Waldo-finding adventure, Ubisoft has released the first details and screens of Ludia's Where's Waldo? The Fantastic Journey, coming out on Wii, DS, PC, and Mac in September. iPhone, originally announced as one of the platforms, is conspicuously absent from the list. The Fantastic Journey allows one or more players to search not just for Waldo, but for his friends and other items. The multiplayer mode features power-ups that shake opponents' screens or cover them in paint, freeze the search window, or enhance items on your own screen. The first screens, available in our gallery, show the Wii version. We have to wonder at whom these are targeted: kids aren't going to remember, or even know, Where's Waldo, and the concept of just looking for a guy in a picture is kind of laughable now that the fad is over. Does that mean that this is intended to serve adults' Where's Waldo nostalgia? Is there such a thing?%Gallery-68104%

  • No Whiimies! Ubisoft bringing Press Your Luck, Family Feud

We'll forever remember the moment we saw John O' Hurley crush Richard Karn's windpipe, the finishing move in the back alley street fight that decided the next rung of the Family Feud host lineage. A moment like that begs for a video game adaptation, but we doubt that's what we'll be getting when Ubisoft brings the beloved game show, along with Press Your Luck and The Price Is Right to Wii, DS and PC this fall. But wait, Joystiq, there's already a Price Is Right on Wii! No friends, this is The Price Is Right 2010. In fact, all the games have a year attached at the end. Because if there's ever been IPs that beg for annualized versions, it's game shows that haven't changed in five decades.

Canadian developer Ludia announced today that it will create games based on the Where's Waldo? book series. The first game by the company, Where's Waldo? The Fantastic Journey, will release on consoles, PC/Mac, iPhone and iPod touch. The game is slated for Q3 of this year and we're desperately trying to get our hands on some screen shots -- just so we can find Waldo in them.Waldo hasn't been working the video game circuit for quite some time -- although he does have an online presence. He had some PC outings in the mid-'90s, but his most recent console adventures appear to be a couple of laughable NES and Super NES games from the early '90s. The new game will have players finding several objects beyond the titled protagonist, with up to four players working cooperatively or competitively. At least today's gaming hardware should be able to render the mess that is one of the Where's Waldo? pictures.

You know what? Not all the E3 news can be megatons. In fact, that seems to be the rule more than it is the exception anymore. But sometimes publishers try to slip a dud under the radar even after we just talked to them. Yes, we're looking at you Ubisoft. Well, we're looking at both you and the recently announced The Price is Right, coming to Wii, DS, PC and Mac in September 2008. You're lucky we're walleyed. The release covertly slipped into our email box is also notable for containing absolutely no details that you couldn't guess on your own. We'll leave you to it.

  • Hell's Kitchen gets game treatment

Scottish chef celeb Gordon Ramsey, best known in reality television circles for his discerning palate and foul mouth, will soon be fronting a game based on his TV show Hell's Kitchen, which sees groups of up and coming cooks vying for Ramsey's love and affection while being reminded of all the reasons why they suck. The TV tie-in is currently in development for "all major platforms" at Ludia, whose only other claim to fame appears to be a still-in-development PC adaption of The Price is Right game show. Credentials, it's what's for dinner.According to Ludia founder and CEO Alex Thabet, the Hell's Kitchen game will feature "the fun of the kitchen boot camp experience," meaning we expect that players will have to endure Ramsey screaming bleeped-out profanities while describing their culinary efforts as "baby vomit." The game, which will also include a number of Ramsey's favorite recipes, is expected to ship in 2008 in order to coincide with the debut of the fourth season of Hell's Kitchen.
