Video game fans are known to complain about pre-game hype, but, if you would indulge us, we'd like to invite you, Rod Serling-like, to enter into a world where there is no hype: It's called WiiWare. And in this bizarre alternate dimension, games are released with no fanfare and very little information about their actual contents. Take, for instance, today's release: Magnetica Twist (Nintendo, 1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points): It sounds quite a bit like the marble-matching gameplay of the DS Magnetica, but with a Mii of your choice manning the marble-blasting cannon. ... So wait, they're allowed to use Miis in games? News to us. You'll have to decide for yourself if this innovative new Mii-in-game technology is worth $10.

A new video of "Get Wii Fit with Alyson" was added to the Nintendo Channel, this time featuring the dancer and friends trying out the yoga exercises. If you think watching someone else do yoga might be exciting, you'd be wrong. The most entertaining part is when Alyson says about the virtual male trainer, "I think I'll call it Brad. You're rad, Brad." Ironically, that's also that part that made us start sobbing, wondering when it would end.You can also watch "info" videos that promote Alone in the Dark, Order Up!, Magnetica Twist, and a number of other games. The highlight for us was watching Wall-E being adorable in the Wall-E TV Spot, but that's not to say it made us want to buy the Wii title. It did make us want to go and see Wall-E, though. Here's the full list of the new videos on the Nintendo Channel, for you to check out at your leisure: Get Wii Fit with Alyson: Yoga Magnetica Twist Info Video Guitar Hero: Aerosmith Hall of Fame Induction Cabela's Trophy Bucks Info Video Alone in the Dark Info Video Wall-E TV Spot Order Up! Developers of the world, repeat after me: just because the Wii Remote offers a new and different way of controlling games, this does not mean that motion-based controls are suitable for everything. Got that? Good. Now write it down on a sheet of luminous yellow A3 card, and pin it to the walls of your offices (or, better still, your foreheads). Learn it, live it, breathe it, and with any luck promising games such as Actionloop Twist (or Magnetica Twist as it will be known stateside, or Minna de Puzzloop in Japan) will never again be marred with awkward, Wiimote-only configurations that are a pain to use.Oh, and I mean pain literally.%Gallery-24708%

In the week that WiiWare launched in Japan, the Virtual Console received nothing. No problem, we thought. This was just a case of Nintendo not wanting to distract people from its shiny new download service with a shmup from the '80s or something. As long as this neglect of the Virtual Console wasn't a regular occurrence, we could cope without an update on this one-off occasion. But now it's happened again. This week, Europe and Australia got absolutely zilch in the way of Virtual Console games, with only Actionloop Twist (Magnetica Twist in the states, or Minna de Puzzloop in Japan) on WiiWare. We're not suggesting that we dislike Actionloop Twist or anything -- our decision on that matter can wait for our review -- but this is a tad worrying. If Virtual Console updates are already being ignored just two weeks after WiiWare launched, this could easily happen again. And that kind of sucks, because we love our golden oldies. Actionloop Twist -- WiiWare -- 1000 Wii Points Make the jump for a Japanese trailer of Actionloop Twist, and keep an eye out for our review in the coming days.
