The pre-E3 briefing is crucial for all major videogame companies, and if you missed Microsoft's noontime keynote yesterday you can relive it live and in HD on Xbox.com. The stream is up on Xbox.com for your viewing pleasure to be shocked (again) that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 are going to involve shooting things, or marvel at how much time Microsoft spent highlighting the Xbox 360's non-gaming prowess with fitness or video applications. Check in with Major Nelson and the crew at the source link below, although we're sure it could use some SmartGlass tie-ins with our liveblog coverage.

Microsoft has sent out a "save the date" email announcing its major events leading up to E3 2010 (June 15–17). The first event, the "World Premiere 'Project Natal' for Xbox 360 Experience," is open to all ages and will be held on Sunday, June 13 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. No further details have been provided, though Microsoft announced earlier this month that it's bringing "the full lineup" of Natal titles to E3. The following morning, on Monday, June 14, Microsoft will hold its annual E3 media briefing at the Wiltern Theater. The event will be restricted to ages 18 and older. With the media getting a taste of Natal the night before, it should be interesting to see what Microsoft has up its sleeve for the actual briefing. Expect more details on both events in the near future.

Microsoft has notified media outlets to wake up slightly earlier tomorrow, as its media briefing has been pushed up 5 minutes to 10:25am PDT (1:25PM EDT). Originally the briefing was scheduled to commence at 10:30am (PDT). According to Microsoft, the (extremely short) change in plans has been made to add a "very special" announcement to their Pre-E3 shindig. Megaton announcement or You're in the Movies 2? You decide.

Dates have been set. Lines have been drawn. The war rages on. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have all scheduled media briefing dates and times for E3 2009. As usual, Microsoft jumps in first, kicking the affair off on June 1 (the day before E3) at 10:30AM PDT. On June 2, Nintendo waggles to stage at 9:00AM PDT, followed by Sony at 11:00AM PDT. With E3 reverting to the days of yore, we expect blinding lasers and fist-pumping anthems along with all the megaton announcements. Think of an excuse now, because between June 1 and June 4 you're not going to want to be at work, school or with significant others. You're going to be at your computer, frantically hitting refresh for all of our in-depth coverage. You know, like you are right now. [Image: LevelGrind]
