The Need for Speed team just revealed the first ProStreet Community Race Day will be going down on December 19th where you can play with the developers, win prizes and be all blissful n' such. Not a huge deal though, right? It's just one of those corporate sponsored (Castrol Syntec) online "events" that is aimed at getting you to play their game ... right? WRONG!If you are a fan of achievements and already own Need for Speed: ProStreet then you need to be online December 19th, because this event is actually an achievement. Yup, the developers thought creating a 15 Gamerscore achievement called "Community Race Day 1" for participating in this once in a lifetime event was a dandy idea. So, if you miss playing, we guess you'll never get the achievement. We aren't sure how to enter into the community fun or how to unlock the achievement, but we do know you'll have to play ProStreet December 19th to have any chance at it. Get prepared achievement whores of the world and complete the task set forth ... you have another one coming when "Community Race Day 2" begins. Mwahahaha![Thanks, Andre Deminiac]

Sorry if we come across a little bothered in this post, but the fact of the matter is that we are very bothered. The source of our bothered nature is this week's latest Marketplace DLC offerings. And no, it's not the new 300 Microsoft point Virtua Fighter 5 Item Pack 1 which allows for more character customization. The price is a bit steep and evil in its own right, but we have bigger fish to fry.The source of our bothered nature is EA's new DLC that they just release for Need for Speed: ProStreet. Listen to this. Not only did EA release three car bundles (Tuner, Sport and Muscle) to the Marketplace on ProStreet's launch day for 400 Microsoft points each, but they're also selling a $10 cheat code. That's correct, for 800 Microsoft points you can get the Ultimate Performance Bundle which will unlock every performance upgrade in ProStreet. Keyword there is "unlock", because purchasing the Ultimate Performance Bundle pretty much boils down to purchasing a cheat code. When will they learn?

Arriving side by side on the XBLM this morning (with their friend Guitar Hero III) are demos for both Need for Speed: ProStreet and Eternal Sonata. The Need for Speed: ProStreet demo is available to all Xbox Live regions and within' the 654MB package is what promises to be "the highest level of street racing" ... evar. Sounds fun to us. The other demo was previously released to North America, but is now available to all of Europe. The Eternal Sonata European demo weighs in at a manageable 584MBs and, according to the demo description, promises "download the demo". Erm, that isn't a promise or any information about the game at all. It's more like a demand, one of those cocky demanding demand. Well, maybe we should all take the demanded advice and give both demos a download and while at it, the GHIII demo too.Read - Need for Speed: ProStreet demoRead - Eternal Sonata demo (Europe)

E3 hasn't even officially started yet, and the trailers are already ankle-deep from Monday's appearances alone. Just wait until it's raining assets later in the week and you can't keep up with anything. You'll feel a bit like Malcolm McDowell in A Clockwork Orange. You won't want to watch anymore, but you won't be able to help it.Viddy everything that popped online Monday after the break, with the added bonus of the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare E3 trailer. Even though it came out a couple of days ago and is a total mouthful, it's well worth a second look.
