Super Stickman Golf creators join the Flappy flock with Flappy Golf
Hoping that two wildly addictive tastes go great together, mobile developer Noodlecake Studios has debuted Flappy Golf, an iOS game that combines the deceptively simple Super Stickman Golf with mobile hit Flappy Bird. Flappy Golf borrows physics, basic gameplay rules and courses from Super Stickman Golf 2, but instead of carefully aiming a shot, players control a flapping bird that must languidly wing its way toward the hole. The goal is to make it through the labyrinthine courses using as few flaps as possible. That may seem overly simplistic, but Flappy Golf features 30 courses of nine holes each, and like Super Stickman Golf, the courses grow increasingly complex and bizarre, offering new challenges with each round. Best of all, Flappy Golf is available as a free download on the iTunes App Store. There are no microtransactions to be found in the mobile mashup, but players will occasionally see in-game advertisements. [Image: Noodlecake Studios]
QWOP faceplants onto Android
Hapless runner QWOP reached the end of the Android track this week, and is out now on the platform courtesy of Noodlecake. For 99 cents you can take on Bennett Foddy's popular frustra-thon, in which you try to steer an incredibly awkward Olympic sprinter forward and avoid the inevitable plummets to the floor. It's also an unerring snapshot of Joystiq's daily morning run, and by daily we mean that one day it happened.
Super Stickman Golf 2 tees off on iOS and Android March 14
Just when you thought your pocket was safe from addictive, goofy 2D golf, Noodlecake Studios has announced that Super Stickman Golf 2 will arrive March 14. It's got new abilities, more crazy courses, portals, power-ups and, perhaps most insidious of all, hats.In just two days, you can snag it on both iOS and Android.
Super Stickman Golf 2 tees up for launch later this year
Fans of Noodlecake's quirky tee-em-up will be glad to know a sequel is on the way. Super Stickman Golf 2 is slated to launch later this year, according to Noodlecake Games' official site, with new levels, power-ups and game modes. Super Stickman Golf 2 also promises asynchronous multiplayer and a Puzzle mode where players must tackle a series of scenario-based courses. Platforms haven't been explicitly noted, but Noodlecake's games usually wind up on at least iOS and Android. To celebrate the announcement, Noodlecake Games has made the original Super Stickman Golf available free of charge on iOS and Android.%Gallery-161284%
Super Stickman Golf free on Android this Thursday, sans multiplayer (for now)
One of our absolute favorite iOS games here at Joystiq HQ is undoubtedly Super Stickman Golf. Our Android-owning ilk have long watched in envy as we battle each other in brutal, Bluetooth multiplayer when we're in meatspace and action-packed asynchronous leaderboards while in the digi-verse. So, for the Android users out there, we have good news and bad news. First, the good news: Super Stickman Golf is coming to Android this Thursday for the not unreasonable price of $0.00. And unlike some of Android's most popular free games, Super Stickman Golf is ad-free. Developer Noodlecake Studios has added in microtransactions, founder Jordan Schidlowsky tells us. "You can purchase more 'powerups' mid round if you run out," he said. While the Android release has "all the holes, hazards and heartbreak fans have come to expect from Super Stickman Golf" it is missing one major, massive feature: Multiplayer. When asked on Twitter if the Android release would support multiplayer, Schidlowsky replied, "Not at launch, but we're working on it." For the price, you're going to want to grab SSG regardless of that (hopefully temporary) shortcoming. %Gallery-134320%
