Patch 4.2 is looking pretty promising on the content front, what with new raids, new dailies -- and oh yes, a legendary staff on the horizon. Today we've got some updates to the Patch 4.2 PTR notes, courtesy of Zarhym over on the official Warcraft blog. Included are a ton of notes for druids, paladins and shaman, among other classes, some changes to the way buffs are applied and some changes to the guild leveling system. All class abilities that place a buff on friendly targets no longer generate threat, with the exception of buffs that directly cause healing or damage, such as Thorns or Renew. When interrupted while casting a single-spell school, players will now be able to cast dual-school spells. In other words, if you're interrupted casting Frostbolt, you'll still be able to cast Frostfire Bolt despite being locked out of the Frost school. The daily guild experience cap and weekly guild reputation cap have been increased by 25% -- and the guild experience cap is now removed at level 20 instead of level 23. Follow after the break for the full list of patch notes.

  • Patch 4.1 PTR patch notes update for March 22

A set of new PTR patch notes has just dropped, and there are some pretty interesting changes involved for just about all players. There are a number of class changes: Mages are getting buffs to their Frostbolt and Fingers of Frost abilities; holy paladins will be seeing yet another mastery buff; and enhancement shaman are getting a brand new talent to replace Improved Fire Nova. Raiders will be interested to see that Maelstrom Crystals are now available for purchase with honor or justice points. PvPers will be interested to see that battlegrounds will award significantly more guild experience. And those currently leveling alts will be thrilled to know that Blizzard is scrapping the Staff of Prehistoria mechanic in Uldaman. (The Indiana Jones aspect of it was cool, but since the introduction of the random dungeon finder, the mechanic was just plain broken.) The full PTR patch notes update is available after the break.

Blizzard has once again updated the PTR and patch notes for 4.0.6 with some new information. Most notable includes the removal of the dungeon discovery requirement to entering dungeons through the random dungeon finder -- no more yelling and screaming in trade chat about where the Throne of the Tides or Stonecore instance portals are. Truly the end of an era. Click through for the full patch notes. Zarhym posted a list of what has changed here. Changes include: Guilds Armadillo Pet -- now requires revered guild reputation instead of exalted. Guild Herald faction requirement -- now requires revered guild reputation. Dungeons & Raids Level-85 normal dungeon bosses dropping Justice Points -- 30 justice points are awarded for normal level-85 dungeon boss kills to help with gearing up for heroics. Daily Random Normal Dungeon Justice Points reward doubled -- Increased from 70 to 140, again to easy gearing up for heroics. Dungeon discovery prerequisite removed -- There is no requirement to have discovered the dungeon entrance in order to queue for that dungeon in the random dungeon finder tool. Druids Rejuvenation updated -- Now trained at level 3, now costs 20% of base mana. Moonkin Form updated -- Moonkin form now reduces all damage by 15%, and shapeshifting in and out of this form will break roots (but it's not in the tooltip.) Blood in the Water -- The timing was changed so that Ferocious Bite will refresh Rip. Paladins Divine Light -- Mana cost increased by approximately 10%. Flash of Light -- Mana cost increased by approximately 10%. Lay on Hands updated -- Now causes Forbearance on the target, cannot be a critical effect, is not affected by abilities that benefit healing like Beacon of Light, and is no longer on the global cooldown. Holy Light -- Mana cost increased by approximately 10%. Aura Mastery -- Can no longer benefit Crusader Aura. Eternal Glory -- Now also applies to not consuming the clearcasting effect of Divine Purpose. Priests Mind Blast updated -- Now does 18% more damage than Mind Spike. Rogues Blade Flurry updated -- Now is a toggle ability that has a cooldown when turned off, like stealth, and reduces energy generation by 30%, up from 20%. Shaman Healing Rain -- Range increased to 40 yards, up from 30. Elemental Overload -- Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning procs can now generate Rolling Thunder charges. Warlocks Devour (Felhunter) -- Cooldown increased to 20 seconds and cannot be autocast. Soul Swap -- Can no longer be dispelled (the aura on the warlock). Warriors Single-Minded Fury -- Bonus increased to 20% up from 15%. Items PvP Balance druid set bonus -- Bonuses increased across the board, and the set bonus is now more intelligent when giving a player lunar or solar energy. Quests & Creatures Tol Barad Peninsula: Rusty Rifle drop rate; bug fix for available daily quests - Rifles spawn faster and players should now always get 6 dailies in Tol Barad Peninsula instead of sometimes only getting 5.

  • Patch 3.3 PTR: Patch notes updated

Horray! Another update to the patch 3.3 PTR patch notes. This one is nice and small. Usually, when the note updates become smaller and smaller, it's a good indication that the patch is getting closer to being done. But, we also haven't seen any itemization of this patch yet -- so there is obviously still a bit of work to do. However even then, items don't exactly change very much in the PTR, they are mostly set via formulas devised well ahead of time. So we'll see... nice to see things shaping up though. All the updates to the patch notes are as follows: Druids: Gift of the Earthmother: Redesigned. This talent now increases spell haste by 2/4/6/8/10% and reduces the base global cooldown of Lifebloom by 2/4/6/8/10% instead of its previous effects. (This was just reworded, nothing changed, according to Blizzard.) Paladins: Sanctified Light (changed reverted based on update to Lay on Hands) Murder: This talent now provides a flat damage increase of 2/4% against all targets, instead of only targets which do not appear in Icecrown. Victory Rush: This ability is now trainable at level 6. (This was just corrected, nothing new.) Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to Arthas. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news.

There's new patch notes for patch 3.1.2 on the PTR out this evening. The patch notes are an update to the ones already released, however there are a few notable changes in them. Some of the major changes: All Lake Wintergrasp daily quests have been changed to a weekly format. The honor and Stone Keeper's Shards rewarded for completing these quests have been increased to compensate. Juggernaut: Critical strike chance bonus reduced to 25%, down from 100%. Jewel of the Sewers: You can now fish in all parts of the Dalaran sewers for this quest. 10-player bosses that drop Runed Orbs will also sometimes drop the recipes that use those orbs.
