Well, prepare to become even more excited, as we've got a gallery of images for you to go through below, as well as a link to the Japanese commercial for the game. What else could you ask for? Everybody should be cheered by the recent news of a sequel to Pokémon Ranger. That is, everybody but our touchscreens. As this first trailer for Pokémon Ranger: Batonnage reveals, the game looks like yet another excuse to happily gouge away at our poor DSes as we feverishly round up Pokémon. Away from the abuse of innocent touchscreens, it's also revealed that Batonnage will feature a Wi-Fi mode, though details on how this will work aren't particularly clear. Stay tuned, Pokéfans.

We've already seen scans and heard ramblings about a sequel to Pokemon Ranger, but Nintendo officially announced the game today in Japan. Nintendo stated that the game will be coming to Japan on March 20th, and will be called Pokemon Ranger Batonnage. Using the word "batonnage" makes us wonder if we'll be able to drink fine wines with the Pokemon in the game. The least we could do after catching the critters, enslaving them, and forcing them to fight is give them a nice glass of Château de Pikachu, don't you think? Other then a confirmation and a Japanese release date, not much is known about the title. It shouldn't be long before information about an international release surfaces, though.

Fans of spin-off game Pokémon Ranger will be happy to hear a sequel is in the works. A couple of scans made their way over to NeoGAF and, as they say, the rest is history. Not being one to pick up the original title, this blogger doesn't know how to feel about a sequel. So, tell us what you think?Did you like the first game? What did you enjoy about it? What did you dislike about it?

Other than teasing folk with Wii launch speculation in a recent press release, Nintendo also confirmed the following DS and GBA lineup for what appears to be year-end schedules: Oct. 9: Clubhouse Games Oct. 16: Nintendogs (Dalmatian) Oct. 23: Magical Starsign Oct. 30: Pokémon Ranger Oct. 30: Children of Mana Nov. 6: Elite Beat Agents Nov. 6: FINAL FANTASY V ADVANCE (GBA) Nov. 13: Yoshi's Island 2 Dec. 4: Custom Robo Arena Dec. 4: Kirby Squeak Squad If what we are seeing is right, Nintendo seemingly has planned not to release Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the DS until at least sometime in 2007. Granted, we should have a Zelda fix in the form of Twilight Princess on Wii and GC before thanksgiving, and the company might not want two Zeldas out at the same time, but you can never have too many dungeons. Nintendo of America has issued release dates for most of the major DS releases in the fourth quarter. This wonderful list is as follows:Oct. 9: Clubhouse GamesOct. 16: Nintendogs (Dalmatian)Oct. 23: Magical StarsignOct. 30: Pokemon RangerOct. 30: Children of ManaNov. 6: Elite Beat AgentsNov. 13: Yoshi's Island 2Dec. 4: Custom Robo ArenaDec. 4: Kirby Squeak SquadAnd also, for the GBA:Nov. 6: Final Fantasy V AdvanceQuite a few must-haves on that list, if we do say so ourselves. As high-profile as Yoshi's Island 2 may be, we find ourselves irresistably drawn of the allures of rhythm and finely honed stylus control in Elite Beat Agents. What are you most looking forward to, reader?Oh, and this press release also engaged in torturing our souls.

Though Wii is a big part of Nintendo's E3 campaign this year, the company made it clear today that Wii was only made possible by the commercial success and innovative development of the DS. In short, the dual screen portable has a lot going for it and is what Nintendo called the "current" leader in game innovation. Here's a full list of games that were presented at the briefing:

Go Nintendo has posted some pictures and a Japanese commercial of the upcoming Pokemon Ranger. What's most interesting about the commercial is the way in which injured Pokemon are captured to be housed away in a small plastic ball and enslaved for all of eternity. Rather than simply lobbing a pokeball at said Pokemon, now the player is charged with circling the creature with the stylus as fast as they can, over and over, eventually ensnaring it for their own personal collection. Also, the commercial shows that the stylus will come into play in regards to solving environmental puzzles. We envision using Pikachu's electric powers to power electrical controls for gates and the like or commanding Charizard lay fiery waste to a downed tree blocking the path. These new mechanics, along with the tried-and-true formula of past Pokemon titles, is sure to excite.
