Remember how last week we said that the PSN hadn't recovered from that pre-holiday extrabonanza update? Let's just apply that same idea to this week. It's a small one. Check out the full PSN update after the break. Choose your platform to view the corresponding release list: (Note: Continue past the break to view both release lists.) [Image credit: aldoaldoz]

NIS America is not shying away from Prinny 2's panties-based story, at all. In this latest trailer, the Prinny narrator tells us that the 1,000 Prinnies in the PSP action title are searching for Etna's stolen panties. Concurrent with the release of the trailer, NIS announced a panty design contest. You have until November 12 to download the template and come up with a single-color design that you think would be nice printed on a Demon Lord's unmentionables. The winning design, of course, will be printed on actual underwear, given to the top three designers and fifty random entries. It's pretty likely winning this contest will be easier than completing the game -- except in Baby Mode.

In a press release, NIS America revealed the box art for the UMD release of Prinny 2 -- confirming that, yes, the publisher is bravely going ahead with the name "Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood!" Had it been us, we'd have changed all the panties to sandwiches. See the box art after the break. More importantly, NIS also revealed that Prinny 2 will feature a new, easier difficulty called "Baby," for people who thought the first Prinny game was too hard. In other words, people. How many other games give you 1,000 lives right from the start, knowing that won't help?

Just in case you didn't get enough weird this week, NIS has you covered with its announcement that the sequel to its PSP action game Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero? is coming to North America in January 2011 bearing the title Prinny 2: Dawn of Operation Panties, Dood! (No joking, dudes!) The side-scrolling, hack-n-slash game was released earlier this year in Japan under the name Prinny 2: Dawn of the Great Pantsu War (no "dood," dudes) and will arrive here in both UMD-based and PSN download form. Now, let's see if NIS America follows through and makes the Japanese release's 10 yen (12¢) daikon radish weapon DLC available Stateside, too.%Gallery-104666%

  • Prinny 2 offers cheapest non-free DLC ever

What can you buy for 10 cents nowadays? Pretty much nothing. However, Prinny 2 is breaking the mold in Japan, by offering a DLC item for pennies (or more accurately, yen). Ten yen (about 11 cents) will unlock a new weapon for the explosive penguin star: a daikon, or Japanese radish. According to Siliconera, the radish will replace Hero Prinny's sword. However, Prinny Asagi will be able to use the radish as a rapid-fire gun, of sorts. While some may argue that this kind of content should be included in the game, it's at least a far better deal than the $25 virtual horse that Blizzard is currently selling in World of Warcraft.

Prinny 2: Dawn of the Great Pantsu War will reportedly launch for the PSP on March 25, 2010 in Japan, according to Dengeki Online (via Siliconera). Sure, Nippon Ichi Software might not exactly want us to know that it's making a sequel to this year's Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?, but that doesn't stop the company from releasing a mess of screenshots and a release date to gamers across the Pacific, along with with the game's full title. As if the first game's premise of securing cakes for Etna wasn't ridiculous enough, the second game tasks you with recovering underpants for her (thus the title). To combat the various adorable enemies along the way (just look at that penguin!), the developer has added new moves as well as a "baby mode" for novices. We've added a handful of screenshots to our gallery below, but you can peep a metric ton more right here. %Gallery-81200%

Are you ready to lose another set of 1000 lives? If so, then Nippon Ichi has a new Prinny game for you. Unfortunately, Nippon Ichi has decided against releasing any information on the game, even obscuring its lengthy title. After playing the first game, can we suggest Prinny 2: This is Going to be a Really Hard Game?[Via Andriasang]
