Now, I like to think of myself as a bit of a pacifist. I avoid taking on non-hostile mobs wherever possible, but Tauren Druid Irenic of Mal'Ganis US has raised the pacifist game. Irenic has leveled from level one to level 90 without doing a single quest, with the exception of one quest he couldn't avoid automatically doing. His total kills for creatures, creature types and critters? None. His total damage done? 92. Largest hit dealt? 55. And that's just accidental clicks of damage with his never-upgraded staff. It should be noted that his statistics are currently skewed by a bug that display honorable kills and daily quest completions from Irenic's main on his pacifist, so don't be misled!. So, if you don't do dungeons, don't do battlegrounds and don't do quests, how on earth do you level? Well, exploration, mining, herbalism and archeology, according the Irenic's thread telling you how he got to 85. What I'm amazed by, personally, is how long it didn't take him: his total /played from 0-85 was 8 days 23 hours 8 minutes 51 seconds, and at 90 was 12 days 4 hours 33 seconds. Now, it's interesting percentage-wise how much time those last five levels tacked on, but nonetheless that's pretty impressive given how much he wasn't doing! What's more, to quote from Irenic's thread, "Since the entrance to Pandaria isn't designed to be entered without questing & killing I spent all my time doing archaeology, and gathering in Kalimdor." This is a really impressive achievement, and I'm rather touched by this peaceful take on WoW leveling! Mists of Pandaria is here! The level cap has been raised to 90, many players have returned to Azeroth, and pet battles are taking the world by storm. Keep an eye out for all of the latest news, and check out our comprehensive guide to Mists of Pandaria for everything you'll ever need to know.

Welcome to your daily dose of The Queue. With Mike, Alex and Adam busy, their precious Queue was left unguarded and captured by Fox Van Allen. All members of the Van Allen faction shall enjoy a 5% buff to damage and experience for the 24-hour duration, and Spirit Shards may now be collected. Before I start the queue in earnest, I shall innaugurate the first ever Fox Van Allen edition of The Queue with a question I want to clear up once and for all: "Is Fox Van Allen your real name?" Yes. That's totally my name. For serious. We all blog under our real names here, and I'm no different. The ladies at Panera never believe me, though. "Well, you know, people sometimes give us fake names." They think they're so hot just because they have, like, six different kinds of soup. Well you know what? They're not. They're not hot at all. Hmph. hp1 asked: My understanding is that there won't be a new neutral city in Cata, a la Shattrath or Dalaran. So where will all the lvl 85's be hanging out? I didn't play in Vanilla but heard most Horde "lived" in Undercity because of it's proximity to Scholo, Strat and to a lesser extent Blackrock. Do you think we'll all be parked in faction-specific cities or someplace new?

  • Note to self: Don't level a profession right before a restart

Here's a pro tip for you all this morning.Don't level a profession right before a server restart.I finally got around to creating a Death Knight yesterday, and after working through the starting zone I decided to stop off and level my herbalism a bit before heading to outland. I know the market for herbs is strong right now because of Inscriptions (which I'm also leveling), so that seemed like a good idea.I was working my way through Elwynn Forest gathering up all the flowers I could. After I hit 75 herbalism I went back to train to the Journeyman level and pickup Apprentice Inscription. There was about 5 minutes left before the server restart, so I decided that I would sit there and mill some herbs and make some ink.
