Promethium Marketing Group's Twitter-enabled tower defense title, Tweet Defense, will be very on sale tomorrow for just 24 hours. Like, as on sale as anything could possibly be. Both the iPhone version and recently launched iPad version of the game will be downloadable for free from FreeAppaDay.com on Sunday, July 11. The game usually retails for $2.99 on iPhone and $7.99 on iPad, so we'd suggest taking Promethium up on this temporary offer. Unless, of course, you're one of those people who thinks that every time you Tweet, part of your soul gets siphoned away. You guys should probably go play something else.

Being a giant, beloved video game blog has its downsides. For example, we sometimes neglect to give independent developers our coverage love (or loverage, if you will) as we get caught up in AAA, AAAA or the rare quintuple-A titles. To remedy that, we're giving indies the chance to create their own loverage and sell you, the fans, on their studios and products. This week we talk with former Xbox community staffer Chris Paladino, who's in the unusual position of working with a games consulting firm, Promethium Marketing, that decided to step out with a game of its own, an unusual hybrid of Twitter and tower defense called Tweet Defense. How did Promethium Marketing get started? We each got started in a womb, but the company got started in 2009, after "The Great Layoffs" at Microsoft. We all loved working together at Xbox, and decided to keep working together running a games consulting company. Why did you want to make games? One of our early projects was working on a social networking game for one of our big clients. We designed the game to drive a lot of social interaction between users. In the process, we fell in love with making games. We tend to think that all hardcore gamers secretly have at least one game they wish they could build. We ended up with the resources and the good fortune to actually do it. %Gallery-87791%

Defend your eyeballs against some screens Promethium Marketing -- formerly the Gamerscore Blog crew -- has released Tweet Defense on the iPhone, a tower defense title that rewards players with bonuses for linking up and using their Twitter account. The title features ten different levels, five different enemy types and six different towers to choose from. Currently, it's available for $.99, though this is only a "limited sale price." The nightmares you'll have about a pregnant zombie giving birth to little zombies are free of charge, of course. Tweet Defense ($.99) %Gallery-87791%

Former Gamerscore Blog staffers Chris Paladino, Nelson Rodriguez and Tony Hynes are contributing their first game to the industry that they've, until now, only been focused on promoting. It was announced yesterday that the trio's Promethium Marketing Group will release its first iPhone game, Tweet Defense, next month. The $0.99 tower defense game will have you fending off waves of zombies with both your brains and (bizarrely) your social network, as it awards bonuses for tweeting and logging into your Twitter account. As strange as it sounds, we're absolutely intrigued. Besides, the Twitter implementation has to be better than what we found in Uncharted 2.
