When I logged in to the servers this morning, I was greeted by three very pleasant surprises! The first thing I noticed was that hardly any of my addons were broken, and I seem to have successfully anticipated those that were, avoiding the usual patch palaver of updating and deleting and fixing. Then I realized I had mail, headed over to the mailbox, and got my second surprise. Waiting for me were my two Digital Collector's Edition rewards, my Lucky Quilen Cub pet and my Imperial Quilen mount! I also got two Collectors Edition achievements just for taking the two items out of my mailbox. My only frustration arose when I headed to another character, received the same mail with the mount and pet, put them in my bag and received an error message telling me that they couldn't be learnt as I already know them. I hope this doesn't happen with every new character, as having to delete all the default account-wide pet mail could become a tad tiresome. My third surprise came when I logged over to another character and realized there was a button at the bottom of my character list indicating that I could create another character. Confused, I quickly counted up the characters I already had on that server and confirmed that I did already have 10. Therefore, the 11th character slot has been added with 5.0.4! All of these surprises have brightened up my day -- and hopefully yours, too. Have you noticed any surprises in 5.0.4? Wandering through the isles of Pandaria, Throgg and Lolegolas are making a slow but inevitable trip toward Miranda. But for now, we'll enjoy some shock, awww, and general fun with their journey. The druid jogged down the hill to catch up with the dyanamic duo. He stopped short when he saw the diminutive creature walking beside them. It looked like a pug or maybe a chihuahua, except for the rich mane around its head. "Wait. What is that ... thing?" the worgen asked. "Collector's Edition pet," Lolegolas said nonchalantly. "Isn't it fabulous? I love it." "Since you disappeared, Spot, we needed a new puppy," Throgg answered. "This guy seemed apt. It's a quilen pup." "It needs a shave," the druid said. "It's got a fierce neckbeard going on. A few more days of growth, and it'll be ready for Reddit." "What's Reddit?" Throgg asked. "It's a place that really loves beards," the druid answered. "I think the dwarves invented it." Somewhere in the distance, trapped within her cage, Miranda shrieked something about a fourth wall. That was just fine, since the boy would have ignored her anyway. Phat Loot Phriday brings you the scoop on some of the most ... interesting ... loot in the World of Warcraft, often viewed through the eyes of the stalwart Throgg and indelible Lolegolas. Around mid-June, data files from the Mists of Pandaria beta revealed that the Collector's Edition of the expansion would come packaged with both a quilen pet and a quilen mount. While we knew what we were receiving, we hadn't seen their models yet -- and today, Blizzard has changed that. Screenshots of each of them have been released on the Warcraft Facebook page. Before you get too excited and lay down your money for a Collector's Edition based purely on these images, do note that because the game is still in beta, anything can change at any time. Only the artwork of the mount and pet have been confirmed through official channels. All other details about these rewards come from datamined sources. If you want to check out the Lucky Quilen Cub and the Imperial Quilen, either head over to the Warcraft Facebook page or check out our gallery below. %Gallery-159614% It's open warfare between Alliance and Horde in Mists of Pandaria, World of Warcraft's next expansion. • Mists of Pandaria Beta: New collector's edition pet and mount uncovered

The latest beta build for Mists of Pandaria has uncovered the name of the potential Collector's Edition pet and possible mount as well. The enterprising folks over at Wowhead dug up the latest info from the build, including a change to the placeholder MoP CE pet and MoP CE mount spells. The pet has been updated to a Lucky Quilen Cub, and the mount has been updated to an Imperial Quilen, which changes depending on your riding skill. Please note, these are still labeled as placeholders, so they may not be in the final product. Although we haven't seen any potential models for either of these creatures, the quilen are the lion-like companions of the mogu, one of the villainous races of the new expansion. You can see what the quilen look like in the screencap above. As with just about every new creature I run into in Pandaria, I pretty much wanted to throw a saddle on this thing from the first moment I laid eyes on it, so needless to say, I'm happy with the choice. I didn't really need any more convincing to get the Collector's Edition of Mists of Pandaria. Frankly, the soundtrack pieces I've heard plus the potential of a new art book were more than enough to snag my interest. But the possibility of both a pet and a mount have sealed the deal, so to speak. Edit: Wowhead has now updated their post with a 3D rendition of the model for the mount. Please note, there are no textures for the mount as of yet, but you can get an idea of how the armor sits on it, anyway!
