Crowdfunded stealth-platformer Rain World is headed to the PlayStation Vita as part of a newly established publishing agreement with Adult Swim Games, developer duo Joar Jakobsson and James Primate announced this week. Initially announced for Windows, Mac, and Linux, Rain World is a side-scrolling, exploration-focused platformer starring an adorable slug-cat hybrid and its offspring. Rain World took in more than $63,000 when it wrapped up its Kickstarter project earlier this year, more than doubling its initial funding goal. Rain World's developers teased in their latest update that the game is coming to "PSN, PS Vita and well beyond," though additional platforms have not yet been announced. [Image: Project Rain World]

Stealthy indie platformer Rain World concluded its Kickstarter campaign yesterday with $63,255 in funding. Developers Joar Jakobsson and James Primate earned enough from the campaign to add Linux to the game's list of platforms, which also spans PC and Mac. Though it didn't go into specifics on its Kickstarter page, the development duo noted that it hopes to bring the game to consoles as well. The game place players in control of a white slugcat in a retro-looking industrial complex, leaping through areas to search for food and avoid predatory creatures. A recent trailer for the alpha-version of the game also shows off the slugcat's little pups, which players will need to guard from the hostile world. Rain World arrived on Kickstarter just one month ago and has since been greenlit for distribution on Steam. Rain World is expected to launch this December. [Image: Joar Jakobsson]

A further half-century of games got their stamps of approval from Steam Greenlight this week, just a fortnight after the last batch of 50. Among the highlights this time around is Catlateral Damage, the pet project of designer Chris Chung in which you play a cheeky cat knocking objects off surfaces. Speaking as the owner of two kittens who are already experts at this game, here's to reversing roles when it launches later this year. Another game with a feline(ish) flavor is Rain World, a stealth platformer starring a white slugcat (looks like it sounds) who hops around a grim industrial backdrop. The stylish presentation of the Windows PC and Mac game helped push it to its $25,000 funding goal on Kickstarter, and designers Joar Jakobsson and James Primate hope to reach $50,000 to enlist help in switching to a more modern dev tool and facilitating a Linux port. A full list of the this week's Greenlight-ed games is available here.

Indie developers Joar Jakobsson and James Primate have pulled back the curtain on Rain World, a slick-looking stealth platformer for Windows and Mac that seeks financial support via Kickstarter. Rain World casts players in the role of a nomadic slugcat who searches an abandoned industrial complex for food before heading into hibernation. The world is fraught with danger, however, as fierce alien predators are also on the hunt, and the decaying environment presents a series of unique platforming challenges throughout. Rain World seeks $25,000 in funding, and backers who pledge $10 or more will receive a downloadable copy of the game upon completion. Rain World is also up for community vote at Steam Greenlight.
