Gocycle's GX ebike is a fast-folding Brompton alternative
Want an electric bicycle that also folds down for easy storage and transportation? Until now, you've had to pick between the iconic Brompton, head-turning Hummingbird and a range of capable but less stylish options from companies like Raleigh, Carrera and Tern. Today, though, there's a new challenger called the Gocycle GX, a bike that the company claims can be broken down and rolled along the floor in less than 10 seconds. That's on par with the Hummingbird and should ensure you don't cause a scene hopping out of a taxi or crowded train station.

Most electric-bike companies are pursuing designs nearly indistinguishable from their purely pedal-powered brethren. They're hiding batteries in slightly thicker frames or attaching them where a rider would normally store a water bottle. While the execution differs, the goal is the same: to make the owner blend in with other cyclists. Mate is a little different, though. The Danish startup is developing e-bikes that are meant to stand out and make people stare. Its latest, the Mate X, is a monster ride with chunky off-road tires and a thick slab of metal that doubles as the top and down tube. And, oh boy, does it fly.
Boosted tells skaters its latest electric board isn't safe
One of the best electric skateboards on the market is suffering from battery problems. In a blog post, Boosted confirmed that its second-generation board has overheated on two separate occasions. In both instances, a lithium battery cell "vented" inside its fire-retardant enclosure -- no-one was hurt, but as a precautionary measure the company has advised against charging and riding its boards. At least for the time being, until it can finish a "thorough investigation" and figure out the root of the problem. For now, Boosted has said it will stop shipping new boards to its customers too.
I learned to ride an electric unicycle
As a beginner, stepping onto an electric unicycle is equal parts frightening and exhilarating. There are no handlebars to grip or a saddle to clench between your thighs, just two narrow pedals separated by a small motorized wheel. Leaning forwards or backwards propels you in that direction, while tilting to either side, similar to a slalom skier, allows you to turn. These delicate bodily adjustments sound simple enough, but actually performing them on the Uniwheel, the first of its kind designed and engineered in the UK, is another matter entirely. You can fall off in an infinite number of ways and for the first few hours, you will. A lot.
