LittleBigPlanet Sackboy plushies go on sale
Just missing the opportunity to become the ideal -- and stuffed -- stocking stuffer, the first official line of LittleBigPlanet plushies is now available on Amazon.com. This two-pack bundle from Senario includes one naked Sackboy and one white Sackgirl for $20. Unfortunately, the online retailer won't have these dolls in stock until the December 30th, so you'll have to take Amazon's prohibitively pricey "One Week Ago" time-travel shipping option. LittleBigChallenge: Design a SackBoy costume DLC
Click here to download the template Sick of using papercraft to show off your artistic side? Here's a contest for you LittleBigPlanet fanatics: design a costume for either SackBoy or SackGirl, and if your costume is chosen, it will become free DLC in the future. Three winners will be chosen: one from Europe, one from the US (sorry Canada and Mexico) and one from Japan. Just use the above template and use an image editor of your choice to create your costume design. Apparently the judges are looking more for a great concept than a great Photoshop expert, so don't worry if your image editing skills aren't top-notch. Another warning is to avoid smaller details that will be hard to see in-game.When your design is ready, just send an e-mail with your design attached to playstation_community_support@playstation.sony.com with "My Sackboy Costume" as the subject line by 11:59 PM PST on September 30th. Design a Sackboy or Sackgirl for LittleBigPlanet DLC
Have you fired many a condescending moan at the lead characters of most chart-topping blockbusters over the past few years, commenting on how the protagonist of your homebrew first-person shooter, Hellkiller, is so much more original and marketable? Perhaps it's time you put your unsung character design skills to work -- we suggest entering a contest recently posted by LittleBigPlanet creator Media Molecule to create a clever outfit for the game's texturized heroes, Sackboy and Sackgirl.One winner from America, Japan and Europe will be chosen from the entries, and the winning designs will be posted as free DLC for the title "in the near future". Applicants, who must be 13 years or older to enter, simply need to draw a costume over a Sackboy template on the LittleBigPlanet site, and email it to Media Molecule. They don't mention this in the rules, but we imagine equipping the mascot-worthy protagonist with intricately drawn reproductive organs is grounds for immediate disqualification.[Via Kotaku]
Five LittleBigPre-order bonuses, including Kratos Sackboy
The God of War himself will soon find himself under new employment as Super Awesome Sackboy Superstar. The official US PlayStation blog has revealed that there are plans for five separate LittleBigPlanet pre-order bonuses in North America, depending upon where you reserve the game (a key detail that has yet to be revealed). Here are the bonuses: The Official "LittleBigPlanet Creator" MiniGuide by Brady Games A LittleBigStickerBook, which is -- shocker -- a sticker book LittleBigPouch, a burlap sack reportedly big enough to at least fit a copy of LBP An exclusive Nariko (of Heavenly Sword fame) SackGirl Exclusive Kratos (God of War) SackBoy Sure, the exclusive SackPeople are nice, but we're willing to bet those will eventually arrive as premium downloadable content or recreated/shared via the LBP community.
