LG, Qualcomm ask us to save the date for yet another September smartphone reveal
Not quite tired of all the big mobile news to burst out of September's gates? Well, you can add one more to the list as LG's just issued an invite for an upcoming smartphone launch. What is the company introducing to go head-to-head against the Lumias, RAZR HDs, iPhone and offerings from HTC and Intel? Well, we can't say for certain, but with Qualcomm onboard as an official host, our money's on a stateside version of the Optimus G, the first LTE smartphone packing a quad-core Snapdragon S4 APQ8064. No doubt we'll be there on the 19th to bring you the news live, so stay tuned.
HTC announces upcoming press event on September 19th
Not wanting Nokia, Motorola, Amazon or Apple to hog all of the attention this month, HTC just sent out invites to the press for an event on September 19th. The invite doesn't offer up too many clues as to what will be revealed at this particular time, but we have a feeling the company may offer its competition to whatever products Nokia will unveil tomorrow (hint: not Android). Regardless of what it may be, we'll be there to give you the full scoop. We'll post more details as they flow in.
Sony E3 2010 press conference set for June 15
Sony has sent out official "save the date" notices for its E3 2010 press conference, which will again return to the Shrine Auditorium at its usual 11:30AM PT time slot on Tuesday, June 15. Unlike Microsoft's duo of presentations this year, Sony won't be hosting a separate event for PlayStation Move, which already grabbed the spotlight during GDC. Unsurprisingly, the announcement also notes that Sony will be available for appointments during E3, June 15–17, which might offer a chance to check out Tretton's promised Killzone 3. At the very least, we'll finally get our mouths on that delicious batter he spoke of. Right? Right?! You promised us cake!
