Some companies make a big to-do over a single product, with big press events and bigger ad campaigns. And then there are those companies like Sceptre that just kind of do the shotgun thing, jamming a single press release up with several product lines, ranging from a series of 4K TVs to earbuds with a zipper-esque cord that's less likely to get tangled than the standard fare. The big announcement here is the unoriginally titled 4K Series, which ranges from 39 to 58 inches. Though, for the record, it's a much more solid moniker than the "Color Line," which are apparently named for their frames and not the fact that their picture is no longer confined to just black-and-white. The company's also got a line of Roku Ready displays, some soundbars and something called a "Mobile Internet Display," which runs Android and sure sounds a lot like a tablet to us...

Convergence, the dictionary tells us, is the point where two things combine, so imagine Sceptre's new hardware as the singles bar where speakers and Android first met. The SB301524W Sound Bar 2.1 marries dual front-facing speakers, a 35W subwoofer, 2.4GHz WiFi 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and Ice Cream Sandwich to rejuvenate any old display into a Smart TV. Naturally, users will be able to access Google Play and download apps to the machine, but there's no word on capacity or expandability -- something you'll have to ask in the store before you shell out $300 on the gear.

Sceptre isn't waiting for CES to give a peek at what its home theater roster will bring. This year, the budget-focused company is hoping to take on the extra-minimalist TVs we've seen from Samsung and LG. Its 32- to 55-inch Rimless series wraps an LED-backlit LCD with a 4mm-thick bezel. Some of its overall TV line should also have MHL-capable HDMI ports to take video from mobile devices or a Roku Streaming Stick. Scepter's audio focus may be the most unique part of its lineup, however: it should have the first compact, 2.1-channel sound bar with WiFi, turning older TVs into connected models. There's more coming, including a 1080p in-car camera, so check after the break for the lineup we know so far.
