Senran Kagura Burst will bring its academy rivalry-oriented shinobi brawls to the streets of Europe, MAQL Europe announced this week. Burst will be released both on the 3DS eShop on February 27, with a retail release following on February 28. A price was not provided, but the North American eShop release was $29.99, $10 lower than the usual rate for new software. Based off a series that has its own manga and anime, Burst is an expansion on the game's 2011 Japanese debut that adds a second campaign called "Crimson Girls." Each campaign follows a rival academy's cast of ninjas through dialog and combo-heavy battles, which result in characters' clothes getting "ripped from their bodies mid-combat."

XSEED has announced Senran Kagura Burst, an expanded version of the Senran Kagura 3DS action-adventure game from Tamsoft, will be in the North American eShop on November 14. The new version includes an additional story called "Crimson Girls" and will be priced at $29.99. Two competitive secret female ninja schools are at the heart of Senran Kagura Burst. The original game's story, "Skirting Shadows," follows the good ninja house, while the new version's "Crimson Girls" storyline focuses on the other academy. The combat is fast with an emphasis on combos, and each shinobi has their own battle stats and fighting styles. As each battle progresses, the girls can go into a "Shinobi Transformation" state, which unlocks even greater attack moves and augments their stats. But of course the real hook is these girls are very bust. Yes, the game is arguably shameless in its fixation on breasts. While we won't judge you for playing it in light of this newfound revelation, we do feel compelled to point out that it's likely others will.

  • Senran Kagura Burst to reach North America, Europe

Action-adventure game Senran Kagura Burst is slashing its way to North American and European 3DSs this fall as a digital release. Senran Kagura Burst follows the rivalry of two shinobi-oriented academies that are disguised as everyday educational buildings. Players switch between two teams of five students, unlocking powers and outfits by completing missions. Battles are preceded with dialog between characters to supplement the story and flesh out relationships. Each student has their own assignments, spanning from retrieval quests to battles with multiple characters. Of course, it wouldn't be an engrossing battle if their outfits didn't shred from their bodies as they took damage. Breast physics are exaggerated, too, so the true hardships of fighting for your life really shine through. Despite the pandering, Senran Kagura Burst's gameplay is fast-paced action with an emphasis on racking up high combos and juggling enemies as they're diced to bits. Senran Kagura Burst spawned an anime and manga series in Japan and ... well, we can kind of guess why.
