Microsoft is issuing a free week of Xbox Live Gold for Xbox One owners who were unable to log into the service for a brief period of time last month, IGN reports. The offer arrives in response to a service interruption on March 11, which emerged in the wake of Titanfall's release. The outage affected player matchmaking in Forza Motorsport 5 and Titanfall, and was resolved later in the evening. Microsoft is currently informing affected users of the offer via Xbox Live's messaging service. Xbox Live Gold compensatory credit will be issued "soon." [Image: Joystiq]

Zediva fought the law and the law shut it down. The unique DVD rental service, sued by the MPAA and Hollywood studios for running afoul of licensing and distribution agreements, has temporarily closed shop. A statement on the outfit's website optimistically refers to the court-ordered injunction as an "intermission," pointing to a hopeful future resumption of operations, and guaranteeing customers a solution for unused credits. The company's promised to fight back against Judge Walter's decision, and is in the process of appealing the ruling that could see it facing a permanent service blackout. We hope for the sake of its "DVD-changing monkeys" that all parties involved can work this out. Make sure to head past the break for Zediva's full explanation.

We reported earlier today about a DDOS attack launched against the EVE Online servers, but we have good news for the game's players. After a prolonged outage, the servers are back online, with an official update from CCP's COO. According to the update, the team is continuing to monitor the situation closely, but at this time it does not appear that there was any breach of the company's infrastructure nor any risk of personal data being leaked. As noted in the letter, the shutdown was an immediate reaction to the threat of any security breach, taken in the hopes of staving off any serious threats to the game or its players. The company apologizes to players affected by the downtime as well as the lack of any subsequent notification, but most EVE Online players will just be happy that the game is back online and should remain so barring any unforeseen complications.

We're sure this has precisely nothing to do with the Opie and Anthony situation, but we're hearing that XM has temporarily stopped broadcasting -- Orbitcast claims they haven't had a signal since noon EST, with reports to them and us about service outages nationwide. Anyone else having problems with their XM feed? Sound off in comments!Update: Orbitcast got the following statement from XM: "We are experiencing a temporary degraded performance issue, which has affected some of our customers. We expect to return to normal service levels this evening."
