Breakfast Topic: Do you have any lucky charms?
Or, as the grummles would call them, do you have a luckydo? Is there an item you own in WoW that drips with superstition, something that you're absolutely sure makes you perform better, even if it only sits in your bags? In years past, we've discussed this once or twice before, and my lucky charm has remained the same despite it being locked away on a character I don't often play anymore. The Shard of the Fallen Star saw me through many boss battles throughout the years. During progression raiding, when we'd get stuck on a rough boss, I'd equip that trinket -- despite the stat loss as a result of wearing it -- and drop a big ol' meteor on the boss's head. Voice chat would erupt in giggles, and despite the distraction, somehow we'd win. There was no power in the world that could withstand the Shard. It reached the point where my raidmates would ask me to equip it when the going got tough. And it worked. Every time. Do you have such a charm? Any raiding rituals that just seem to work even when they shouldn't?
The Queue: Little things
Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column where the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today. I feel I've done one of these far too recently to do another one so quickly, but we're going to do another listening music day anyway. In yesterday's Blood Sport, Colby introduced me to Pomplamoose, a musical duo from Youtube. Considering most of my procrastination hours are spent on YouTube, I am amazed I've never heard of them before, but they are great. Plus the girl is way cute. She practically emits that kitty face emote when she talks. Seriously. So today's listening music is Pomplamoose's Little Things. Grumbly Stuff asked... "What's your (or anyone's, really) favorite proc or on-use effect for any piece of gear/weapon/trinket?"
About the Bloggers: Alex Ziebart
Twice a week, our writers will tell you more about themselves, and let you get to know them and the characters they play a little better. Click here to read more About the Bloggers. What do you do for WoW Insider?I'm primarily a weekend blogger for WoW Insider, but I also stick my nose in during the week when I can. I am also a columnist for Hybrid Theory and I take turns with Elizabeth Wachowski writing Know Your Lore. For the Horde or Glory to the Alliance? Glory to the Alliance! While orcs bug me for some reason I can't decipher, I don't really have anything against the Horde. I started playing Alliance because that's where my friends rolled and we started a pretty awesome guild there, so I stuck around and came to love it. If those people had rolled Horde instead, I might be playing there. Both factions have their own feel, and they're both very cool.
The 7 best trinkets in the World of Warcraft
You know, if there's one thing I have noticed digging through my bags, it's that I have a whole mess of trinkets. Of all the gear slots, it seems like trinkets are some of the most versatile and swappable. Depending on whether you need a bit more hit rating, a bit more critical strike rating, a bit more mana regeneration, a bit more health, a bit more armor, or you plan to go PvPing for a bit, you can fill up bags upon bags alone with a whole bunch of trinkets, waiting for the right moment to spring them. Then there's the really bad ass trinkets. I'm not talking trinkets that are traditionally defined as "useful," I'm talking about the trinkets that make you into the life of the party. The ones that make other people notice you, make them stand up and say, "Woah, that guy is using some CRAZY trinkets." You know what I mean. Stop trying to get yourself that Ashtongue Talisman, these are the REAL deal.
