Asiko is an up-and-coming song maker who has released Take your time, featuring Sharm and Abandonation. The video was created by WoPairs. That's a pretty good crew for a premiere video, and the audio work in this piece reflects that. The imagery was especially interesting to me, and I wonder how music and videos like this will change when Cataclysm is released. Will we see significant changes in the factions of the main characters? Do we think some of the portrayed rivalries might shift? I'll be curious to see what happens. I first featured this song a few months ago. WarLock is a collaboration piece by Cryssy, Sharm and Quixotica. It celebrates that most DoT-oriented class. At the time, there was a lot of hubbub about my use of "iconic" to describe Kesha. To be fair, I never said anything about whether I find that style of performance good or not; I only really said that if a person hears it, that person tends to think of Kesha. But I'm especially glad for WarLock because whenever I hear the music from Tik-Tok, it's WarLock's lyrics that spring to mind. WarLock has completely eclipsed the original in my subconscious, so I get to have that little party dance with myself. It's the little victories that make life worth living. Now is good timing to bring WarLock back up, because I hear Cryssy is working on a new project, so I hope to see that come to fruition soon. In the meantime, I'm just glad to have a few of Keisha's lyrics gone from my brain. Edit: Fixed the spelling of Keisha. When spellcheck goes wild, right? Interested in the wide world of machinima? Work Warning: This video has WoW models in their underwear, and sexually suggestive themes. I Play as a Chick is one of those videos that come with amazing coordination and collaboration between artists. Yumfries, Sharm, Wick, and Tradechat got together to create this epic piece of work, and the final product is absolutely amazing. While I can't say I'm at home in the rap genre, even I could easily acknowledge the great work these folks have produced. The video is awesome. It's been a while since the production values of a music video were so astoundingly high that I felt someone had raised the bar, but Yumfries has definitely accomplished that with I Play as a Chick. The graphics never got boring or stale, and they seemed to constantly be creating new scenery. Even if some of the video was a bit racier than some viewers would prefer, the artistry that went into it is clear. The song itself was equally good, with creative lyrics and an overall playful tone. The "narrative" of the song has a playful ending, with a certain tongue-in-cheek acknowledgement of the subject matter's ridiculousness. Interested in the wide world of machinima? This movie was created by RavenSylphG, who you might recall was the machinima creator of the incredibly popular Ninja Raiders. Raven has put together a new video for the song On the Horde. It's pretty nice to be able to feature more of her work, since I'm really finding myself enamored of her graphic style. On the Horde is performed by Kirstieanne, Cryssy, and Sharm. (You're probably pretty familiar with Sharm from videos like I Kissed An Orc). This is the first time I've been exposed to Kirstieanne and Cryssy. I liked both of their performances, and think they did a good job singing with Sharm. I will admit that On the Horde didn't hit me as the best song ever, but I still respect the amount of work and effort that must have gone into creating it. Ultimately, I'm really excited about seeing all four of these folks break out more music and videos into the WoW culture. I think theyr'e doing great things, and I'm eager to see what comes next. WoW Night featuring WIck and Sharm is a new music video from Yumfries. (Whenever I see that name, I always think "Yummm, fries!" I'm not sure if that's the point of the name, though, so I always feel guilty for it.) This isn't really my kind of music, so I feel unable to adequately review that aspect. I will point out that Sharm (also known as TaintedLore) has always been fantastic in previous performances, so I have to assume the music crew knew what they were doing. This is, of course, another team-up featuring Wick, whom I feel we're starting to get to know as a performer. The video itself, however, is absolutely astounding. It has a lot of the same composite layering of images and action that we've seen before from Yumfries, but I continue to be fascinated by how the machinimist's skills have grown. Even if the music weren't entertaining, I could be satisfied to turn the audio off and simply watch the complex action happen. The amount of work and inspiration Yumfries puts into these videos really make them works of art, and I always look forward to each new piece. Interested in the wide world of machinima? • WoW Moviewatch: The Womanizer Song

Warning: This song has a few very mild sexual references but definitely some scantily clad character models. We've not covered Sharm much before, who goes by the user name taintedlore over on YouTube. She's a UK artist, and has been racking up an impressive body of work. She does mostly parody videos, and seems to be expanding on the machinima quality in her songs. Her early work was mostly about the music, but the video aspects have been getting much stronger as she goes along. The Womanizer Song isn't about what you might think at first. The song is focused on those chaps who choose to play female characters. The video is light fare, and Sharm's singing is catchy and convincing. I don't have any opinions on the subject, but I don't think Sharm is necessarily looking to haul out the pitchforks and torches on the "womanizers" as much as she's just looking to make a joke about it.The video itself is great for the genre, though. The fast scenes, quick cutting, and overall lighthearted tableau make for easy smiles. I don't think stylizing the models any further would have been helpful. I do like the occasional still photo behind a moving actor, though, since it sets up a nice surreality to the video. If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ..
