In Revenge (Act 2), we get a little more insight to why Nixxiom has launched his crusade against Arthas. We also get the hint that Nixxiom's pals might have somehow been involved in betrayal. This video is technically a preview. But it clocks in at 10 minutes and has a more fully developed plot than many full machinimas I've seen. My hat's off to Nixxiom and Silverlined Productions for this. Revenge (Act 2) is a very moody piece, featuring a lot of good old-fashioned brooding angst time. Considering the events in the main character's life, that's pretty justified. However, now that the story has been built up and framed, it should be exciting to see the action in the next release. Silverlined Productions stepped up to the holiday plate by presenting us A Silverlined Halloween. It's a clever commentary on the most dreaded Halloween event possible -- people handing out crackers to Trick-or-Treaters. Who's better to purvey such a vile treat than Arthas himself? I enjoyed the general plan of A Silverlined Halloween, but I admit I struggled to understand what the Lich King was actually saying. I acknowledge that it could just be me having bad hearing, though. The adult Trick-or-Treater was fun, and I think his heavy breathing left enough doubt as to his intention that there was suspense in most of the video. At the end of the day, I enjoyed A Silverlined Halloween. Maybe subtitles or something would make the Lich King's role more comprehensible, but I was still able to understand it well enough to laugh. • WoW Moviewatch: Everyone is Crap

When I first loaded Everyone is Crap by Silverlined Productions, I wasn't sure what I was expecting. It sounds like he's dissing everybody, but "crap" isn't usually the word you'd use with that kind of thing. I discovered quickly, however, a sort of light, tuned rhythm with surprisingly inoffensive lyrics. The song seems to mostly be about a general malaise, the kind of work-day tedium that we all inevitably suffer at some point. The video itself suits the song. It's kind of emotionally in the middle, without any bite or overwhelming angst. You've got a night elf kind of singing, kind of lamenting that everyone seems so run down. I might be reading too much into the piece, but it really felt like it was screaming, "Come on, people! Snap out of it!" When the elf gives a lollipop to a pair of sad humans, that really sealed the interpretation for me.Overall, I liked the piece. According to the author, they created the video after a rough day and randomly searching "Everyone is Crap" in YouTube. Silverlined saw the song by Spoonbank, and subsequently created this video. It's pretty neat, even if I might be reading too much into it. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! • WoW Moviewatch: Two Fellas

Warning: Spoilers about this movie appear in the review.Like almost everyone else who is regularly featured in WoW Moviewatch, Silverlined Productions are busily grinding away on their movie presentation for BlizzCon. However, Nixxiom took a break from that effort, and threw together Two Fellas to keep us entertained during the interim. As the video itself warns, Nixxiom didn't spend an inordinate amount of time building the video. It's interesting to note, though, he said it took three hours on the long end. That's a good point for folks who are new to machinima. This brief, short clip took three hours. It's important to keep that in mind when evaluating how much effort machinima authors spend creating their work. The story is pretty short. A pair of humans are chilling out in Lakeshire, talking about how a pretty good movie was spoiled at the end by some randomness that didn't make any sense. Then a nun appears, who turns into a worgen. And then, randomness occurs. The final line of the movie is something like "I'm gonna rape you."I found the bit pretty funny and enjoyed the movie. But the politically aware person wonders about that final line. Since the whole point is "this is random and crazy," I don't imagine there's any harm meant. After all, a common PvP phrase is "I'm gonna own you!" You're not really referencing slavery with that phrase, and Nixxiom wasn't trying to make light of rape as a subject. It was just a phrase. Still, it stuck out in my head, and I thought I'd mention it.Overall, this video was actually a lot of fun, and I totally tip my hat to Nixxion. Thanks for the taking the time to put something out there, even while working hard on your BlizzCon efforts. Interested in the wide world of machinima? Warning: The language in this movie is not safe for work.Today on Moviewatch, we take a look at the second piece from MozQ -- his first, Keep Browsing, was a fun little pastiche of geeky clips and fast cuts, and this one is more of the same. The animation has improved a little bit (the effects in the first few scenes with the gnome are done pretty well), but the humor stays about the same, so if you enjoyed the first one, you'll like this one, too.Between then and now, he's joined up with a group called Silverlined Productions, so we'll expect to see more from MozQ and his compatriots. Their blog says they've hooked up with a music director to make music for them, so keep your ears open for some original music in future productions. If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ..
