SMK-Link releases Wireless Ultra-Mini Touchpad Keyboard for your inner sloth
Exerting energy goes against the very fiber of our 21st century ethos -- which is why SMK-Link has come out with the Wireless Ultra-Mini Touchpad Keyboard. Available in both Mac- and PC-compatible versions, this little handheld allows users to surf the web, send texts, or control their home entertainment systems from up to 30 feet away. Featuring both a raised QWERTY keyboard and capacitive touchpad, SMK-Link's latest battery-powered creation boasts 20 function keys, seven hot keys and a dedicated Windows Media Center Start button (on the PC version, naturally). It's funny that the most interesting iPad accessories so far have been the ones that try to squeeze Apple's tablet into more traditional shapes -- we've seen a wave of rebranded Bluetooth keyboard cases that ape the netbook form factor, a number of cases that aim for a Moleskine vibe (including some from Moleskine itself), and even an official Etch-a-Sketch case. And now we've got SMK-Link's PadDock 10, an iPad stand that unapologetically turns your tablet into the tiny touchscreen iMac you've maybe always wanted. SMK-Link's Notebook USB Audio Station tilts your laptop with speakers
On one hand, it's just a laptop docking station. On the other, it's probably the most useful laptop docking station this side of Toshiba's dynadock V. SMK-Link's simply titled Notebook USB Audio Station was just released, bringing a universal (Mac and PC) design that actually goes above and beyond the call to a product segment that's typically a snoozefest. As you've likely noticed by now, the tilt here is accomplished by propping your machine up on a pair of 8-watt speakers, giving you an elevated view as well as an improved level of audio quality (we're assuming, anyway). There's also a three-port powered USB hub for keeping those peripherals juiced, and the sub-$60 price point makes it even easier to consider seriously. As of now, though, you'll only find it at the company's website and inside your local Apple store.
GoSpeak! Pro fold-out speakers give on-the-go presenters plenty of joy
NXT's flat-panel speaker technology doesn't get an awful lot of love these days in the high-end audio realm, but that's not to say some outfits aren't putting it to good use. Take SMK-Link Electronics, for instance, who just pushed out the most spectacular must-have product ever for the traveling salesperson in your life. The five-pound GoSpeak! Pro is little more than a fold-out speaker system, which is slim enough to slide easily into any briefcase yet potent enough to project PowerPoint audio to some 200 listeners (yes, 201 actually is impossible). As expected, you can also hook up a wireless microphone to let your voice project through it as well, but with a base price of $399, you might consider just yelling really, really loudly.
