A new video from the Fat Awesome Films YouTube channel shows just how bad the bad guys have it (really bad). It might make you feel bad for the bad guys, and not so bad for Nathan Drake, who is the devil.

Political debates just got a little more attractive. Avid World of Warcraft fans, WoWWonk, have recreated the 2008 YouTube Primary Debate WoW-style. A virtual Anderson Cooper MCs the event, with a typical YouTube contributor asking each candidate to say something nice about the person next to them. While this video isn't without technical flaws, it is a humorous take on an event that typically causes fur to fly. That's not to say that it doesn't, though, as one candidate chooses to compliment an opponent's wife instead. Actually, I think if there were more spoofs like this, young MMO players might pay more attention to politics![Thanks, WoWWonk!]

Apple's Get a Mac ads have inarguably struck a chord with both the advertising and our culture. People clearly either love 'em, hate 'em or wanna spoof 'em, and one only needs to comb our archives or check YouTube to see what we mean. Recently, Novell (yea, the Linux guys) tossed their hand into the mix with their own spoofs which debuted at their BrainShare conference (which you can attend virtually). The first video, linked here at YouTube, plays off the Win/Mac rivalry and pokes fun at how the industry often ignores Linux and its surprising (to some) user base size. The second video, embedded in this post, is arguably funnier, as it does a great job of poking fun at the way Microsoft and Apple market their products while pointing out open source software's advantage of being a community effort. They're both good for a chuckle and a nice effort from Novell, or whoever actually put them together. Thanks, geezer.

  • Microsoft takes a swipe at Apple's "I'm a Mac" ads

Like you, we've seen a number of spoofs of the "I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" ads. But most of them just make fun of the whole concept, rather than take on Apple, or a particular Apple product, directly. Well, Microsoft's just produced yet another rather clever parody pitting a Zune-toting PC with an iPod-carrying Mac, and apparently screened the ad at a recent company meeting. The sticking point is how "difficult" it is to get music onto the iPod versus how "simple" it is on the Zune. Not that we think the iPod is a paragon of usability, but we can't not bring up the fact that we'd love to see Microsoft live up to its claim and really make getting music as easy as pushing a single button. Anyway, you can catch the video on the next page.

  • Yet more Mac spoof ads - now with Linux!

I was waiting for someone to add Linux into the mix, and TrueNuff TV did a pretty good job with a series of Mac Spoofs. Parodying (of course) the latest series of love-em-or-(mostly)-hate-em ads, TrueNuff has produced 6 spoofs that poke fun at the Mac, though Linux, admittedly, takes quite a beating as well (but c'mon - it's Linux!). The spoofs are featured at TrueNuff TV's site and also on YouTube. Enjoy.
