W00t! Seems Apple really likes me, or at least people in my general area. Tomorrow is the grand opening of the newest Apple store, Boulder, Colorado's Twenty Ninth Street location. Par usual for store openings, the first thousand people through the door get special limited edition t-shirts, and can enter for a chance to win fabulous prizes. I'll try and make it up to Boulder to get in line by 7:30, but if one of you early rising readers is going to be there and wants to keep a place in line for me, I would be forever in your debt. I'll be there with my Flatiron Crossing grand opening shirt and etched-out PowerBook blogging and interviewing store staff and excited line-waiters alike.

A game that combines Dragon Quest with Nintendo into a board game for the DS, Itadaki Street has not received a street date or price in Japan yet. However, we do know the game is to support both local and Wi-Fi Connect gameplay modes through two different multiplayer gametypes. Exact details on how the game will play, through single-player and multiplayer, are not known as of this time.

The only things certain in life are death, taxes and never-ending sequels from companies like Capcom and EA that mainly include little to no worthwhile upgrades other than a few more characters or new rosters. Having said that, I'm happy to tell you EA plans on bringing NFL Street 3 to the PSP Nov. 5, and Gamespot has just posted a cornucopia of new screens for you EA boys to drool over.Hopefully, EA has taken the time to fix the loading issues and the ridiculously over-powered running game that plagued NFL Street 2. Marco, regular PSP Fanboy reader, wrote in our comments section: "It is something nobody has done before (as far as I know)... I think people are jaded about any game being about Hip Hop... but at least I do know that there are people who do make the genre respectable."Very true, Marco. It's pretty easy to get jaded over games that don't seem authentic, but B-Boy seems to be the real deal. It's a game that deserves a bit more attention than it's getting, if only for its unique premise: you play as a rising star of break-dancing, and you battle other b-boys to try and become the best. It looks pretty new and different, and according to IGN, it "doesn't play quite like anything that's come before." The D-Pad controls movement, and the face buttons are used as the building blocks of moves. You string things together, and maintain balance using the L and R buttons a la Tony Hawk. There are transition moves, and increasingly complicated moves which require greater button combinations, and that's where a surprising amount of depth can come into play. Like extreme sports games, you can build up some impressive combos.B-Boy promises to mix music rhythm and sports gameplay into an innovative combination. The game is currently UK-exclusive, but hopefully we'll see it branching out soon.

  • NBA Street benched for Wii

Considering EA's recent enthusiasm for Nintendo's Wii (stop laughing) and impressive lineup of games to be released for the console, we're quite shocked at the latest development with one of EA's most popular franchises. The next installment in the NBA Street series is only poised to extravagantly dunk on the PS3 and Xbox 360, leaving the better console in the dust. Due out in the Spring of 2007, the newest game will also be ditching current-gen systems.

The last time PSP Fanboy covered B-Boy, Rafael was a bit cynical about the game, thinking it was driven solely by marketing towards the street crowd. This break dancing battle game has you stringing together combinations of acrobatic moves, and (as a New Yorker) I'm really excited about this game. I don't think I really remember seeing a game ever embrace this culture like this one. SCEE has started up a new website outlining the inspiration for the game and gives you a bit of insight into the culture that the game is trying to represent. You'll get some downloads, listen to some good music, and find game footage. What's not to like? Hopefully, SCEA will pick up this game for release outside of Europe as well.[Via PSPro]

GameVideos.com and the guys from 1up offer a guided tour of the test version of Street Figher II: Hyper Fighting  video also availabe after the jump). Lots of gripes about lag. Sample quote: "There's nothing hyper about it." I don't remember the last DOA game getting quite this much nit-picky attention, but people demand the best from their nostalgic 2D throw downs. Hopefully, Capcom will make some last minute fixes so that the world's largest online street fight lives up to the...er..hype.[Thanks xGWx Egon]

  • DS Lite street date disregarded [Update 1]

Seems some brick and mortar retailers are violating the DS Lite street date. The pictured unit was picked up by CAG moderator Trakan at his local Target, which he claims had a large display case full of the sleek dual screens. I'll be trekking out into the world shortly to check my local Walmart, Target, and Best Buy, which are luckily all right next to each other on the same street. I'll update later with my findings, but in the mean time, any of you fine readers manage to get a street-date-violated DS Lite?[Via Joystiq][Update: If you locate a DS Lite, be sure to add the offending store to this Flickr Frappr map. Thanks Jake!]
