During Sony's press conference at the Leipzig Game Convention, the boss of Sony Europe David Reeve detailed sales numbers on a handful of key PSN titles. Leading the pack was Tekken 5 with 103k sold, followed up by flOw with 47k sold. The really interesting thing though is that Super Rub-a-dub outsold Calling all Cars!, 34k to 31k. It's pretty bad when David Jaffe's baby can't even outsell one of the worst reviewed titles on the PSN.We contacted David Karraker from SCEA who clarified that these numbers were just for Europe, which makes some sense since Calling all Cars! hasn't been out over there as long as it's been out in America. Still, it's got to be a disappointment for Jaffe that even after all the publicity, attention and (generally) good reviews for Calling all Cars!, it still gets beaten by an over-grown tech demo. Oh well there's always next time!

Super Rub 'a' Dub, the one-time tech demo turned PlayStation Network game, is now available to download for European PS3 owners. In the game, the Sixaxis tilt control is used to balance the world and move the big duck around, akin to Monkey Ball, and try to collect all the little rubber duckies before reaching the exit. The game has an "introductory price" of 4.99 Euros / 3.49 British pounds (approximately US $6.75) until May 23. Trailer of the game embedded after the break. No word on when the US version is arriving.

With the foolingest day of the year behind us, we welcome a trailer for Super Rub 'a' Dub, a game that at first glance looked like a joke. But, no, the game is a real downloadable title for the PS3, and the trailer quickly turned us from skeptical to interested. Players pilot a rubber duck through elaborate pools with the Sixaxis motion controls, herding up smaller ducks in the process. Elements of the game remind us of Lemmings and ChuChu Rocket; we hope the final title lives up to those classics.See the video after the break.

  • Super Rub a Dub screens and info... too cute to refuse!

Ever since Phil Harrison unplugged the drain on this title, a torrent of screens have flooded the internet. Well, that didn't exactly work as planned, but you get the idea. Tubs, water, etc? It was about 46% clever. Super Rub a Dub is a new downloadable title due out at some point in the future (March 23rd, the European launch) that lets you control that cute little rubber duckie you've loved your entire life. In secret. Using the SIXAXIS, you guide mama duck and her little babies through a series of interestingly designed bathtubs. Anyway, check out the screens, go "aww", then return to blowing stuff up. Or whatever.

  • The Playstation ducks return in Super Rub'a'Dub

Sony's Phil Harrison held his D.I.C.E keynote today with the help of some very familiar faces (and we're not talking about Newsweek's N'Gai Croal). Typically seen in the thousands, the rubber duckies of the Playstation brand are Sony's secret weapons when it comes to fancy technical demonstrations. Having paid their dues, the next big thing for the rubber wonders is a Playstation Network title by the name of Super Rub'a'Dub.Played entirely with the Playstation 3 motion controls, Super Rub'a'Dub has players controlling the alpha duck, herding the little ones together before making a swim for the exit. Sounds like Bubbles to us! Not much else is known about the title, other than it will release in time for the European launch.
