Having already given you the AT&T spec sheet and images on this new Nokia, the only things missing are launch date, price, and a bit of video. Well, a janky QIK video just made its way to YouTube claiming that Nokia's Mako is coming to AT&T in mid-July as the 6790 Surge. It should be "priced pretty well" but those details haven't been finalized. So if a quick messaging device running S60 beneath a 2.4-inch 240x320 pixel display with HSDPA data and 2 megapixel camera is enough motivation to prompt another mouse-click then by all means, click through for the video overview provided after the break. Stay cool, bye.

A new Afro Samurai demo just ninjaed samuraied its way onto the Xbox Live Marketplace, bringing with it the potty-mouthed anime shenanigans the star vehicle is known for.Listed at 454MB, the demo comes packed with a brief video introduction (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) and a relatively small sampling of what Afro Samurai is all about. Our only advice for those who attempt the way of the samurai is to swing often, jump high and keep an eye out for invisi-walls.[Via Major Nelson]

  • News flash: Splatterhouse is really gory

It's probably time that we introduce you to some new footage from Splatterhouse, somehow lost in the New York Comic Con shuffle. The footage, incidentally, is horrific, visceral, violent and gory. It also has a totally rawkin' soundtrack for those who are into that sort of thing. For those not into that sort of thing, well, we hope there's a BGM volume option. Then again, music might be the least of your worries now that Namco Bandai's internal Surge studio is at the helm of the game. As such, let's just hope it doesn't become Voldo's Quest: The Search for a Better Thong. Check out the footage after the break.

  • Joystiq visits: The Afro Samurai launch party in Los Angeles

Namco Bandai, er ... we mean Surge rented out the Geisha House in Hollywood last night in order to throw a party for the launch of Afro Samurai, and Joystiq tagged along to check things out. The best thing about the night? Plenty of stations to play the game on both PS3s and Xbox 360s. Sadly, the sound was so loud in the place that you couldn't hear the hacking and slashing from the samurai with the gigantic hairdo. Also puzzling was the fact that Samuel L. Jackson was listed as a co-host of this party and was a no show. That was a real surprise, since he provides both the voices of Afro Samurai and his sidekick Ninja Ninja and is a co-producer of the series. Either he didn't show at all, or he really does have ninja-esque skills and we just missed him. Update: he actually did show up, we just missed him. Plus he was dressed for freezing weather.Check out the gallery below, and highlights after the break including a video performance by an afro-bedecked The RZA, who provides music both on the show and in the game.%Gallery-43362%

Namco Bandai has announced the formation of "Surge," a new studio and publishing label aimed at "providing cutting-edge, genre-defining games that are targeted at satiating the appetite of western gamers." Much like Square Enix's recent English-centric efforts, Namco hopes to tap into a wider market with several in-development IPs, the first of which are slated to arrive in 2009.Andrew Lelchuk, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Namco Bandai Games America, dubs Surge a "creative force," one that promises to deliver "compelling content for the discriminating player who is looking for games that are not only groundbreaking but also push the envelope." Surge's first game that is not only groundbreaking but also pushes the envelope? Afro Samurai, due on January 27th, 2009.

  • Electronic House Mag deems Tripp Lite's AV Digital UPS product of the year

Ask any audio/videophile what the most important accessory for their gear and they will tell you their power conditioner; Electronic House Mag agrees and so, they named their product of the year Tripp Lite's AV Digital UPS HTRL15UPS. This device may look like a glorified surge protector, but we are here to tell you that they are so much more. A quality power condition can make such a noticeable difference in the audio and video quality that you will wonder why you ever ran the equipment without it. But then on the other hand, some people won't be able to tell the difference thanks to their electrical wiring. This power condition includes an uninterrupted power supply to allow your HDTV time to cool off and hopefully extend the life of that pricey lamp, plus, it can run your DVR when the power is off so you will never miss a show. For a modest $349, a person gets the UPS system, an LCD status screen, voltage regulation, and eight outlets. They deemed this the top product because they view it as "the most capable, cost-effective power protection solution available for a wide range of A/V applications."Does anyone have this power condition? Why did you choose this one?
