We're of the firm opinion that your time is too precious, too valuable to be spent reading a full review for a game that was already reviewed many, many years ago. What's the point of applying a score to a game that's old enough to be enrolled in the sixth grade? That's why we invented Deja Review: A quick look at the new features and relative agelessness of remade, revived and re-released games. "Woah, wait a second, Joystiq," you might be typing into the comments section of this review right this second, "how in the world can you do a Deja Review on something that's new like Tekken Hybrid?" Well, it's simple: Tekken Hybrid is mostly old stuff. Parts of it are new, but the most substantial offering in the package is a PS2 launch title which has had a face lift. I should preface this all by saying I'm a pretty big Tekken fan. I've been playing the series since it existed and the original Tekken Tag Tournament is responsible for one of my favorite memories as a human being. But, for most fighting game fans, you've either been with the franchise for a while or you've got your reasons for not giving Tekken a chance. Don't expect Tekken Hybrid to sway that opinion. %Gallery-129093%

Andriasang snagged the latest copy of Famitsu, which confirms a February 16 launch date for Tekken 3D Prime Edition in Japan. As you may recall, Tekken 3D Prime Edition isn't simply a video game -- it also includes the 3DS' first feature-length film, Tekken Blood Vengeance. Oh, and we should mention, if you're thinking about picking up the game simply to see someone riding a panda, we'd be remiss if we didn't turn you on to cheaper options.

We've seen almost nothing about the 3DS Tekken game, except for a flash of footage during Nintendo's E3 stage presentation. Namco Bandai has released a new trailer of the game now called Tekken 3D Prime Edition, allowing us to see just how much body glistening Namco has been able to generate with the 3DS hardware. It's more glistening than you'd probably expect! Namco also revealed that the 3D movie Tekken Blood Vengeance will be included on the cartridge, making it the first feature-length 3D movie announced for 3DS. Namco says only that the package will be released "soon," but it's likely to be the first 3D movie released on 3DS as well. Blood Vengeance is also part of a PS3 bundle including Tekken Tag Tournament HD and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue.

When you buy the Tekken Hybrid set, you'll get an HD version of the first Tekken Tag Tournament for PS3. You'll also get a playable sample of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, producer Katsuhiro Harada announced at Comic-Con. Oh, and the Tekken Blood Vengeance movie, of course. The trailer shows Alisa and Xiaoyu, who will be playable in the "Prologue," fighting Devil, who hasn't been previously revealed as a character appearing in this game. And speaking of unconfirmed news, a console release still hasn't been announced for Tekken Tag 2 -- even though it now has a console demo. The Hybrid set will be out sometime in November, but if you have a hankering for a bite-sized Tekken Tag experience now, you can get Tekken Bowl on iPhone -- for free!%Gallery-129093%%Gallery-129091%%Gallery-129098%

Namco Bandai's bear punching documentary Iron Fist opus Tekken: Blood Vengeance 3D will be landing in theaters across the country on July 26, where it will exist for 6 hours and then sublimate into the ether, never to be found or seen again. Unless it comes out on Blu-ray. But anyway! The one-night-only US showing will pre-date the Japanese release by a little over a month, and will be immediately followed by 20 minutes of interviews with various Tekken staff, including Cowboy Bebop alumni and screenwriter Dai Satō. You can plug in your zipcode at the bottom of this site to see if your local googolplex is participating in the festivities. [Thanks John!]

E3 2011 was secretly a big year for the Tekken series. Street Fighter X Tekken was playable, and new Tekken games were briefly shown for both 3DS and Wii U. If those weren't enough, Sony sneaked the PlayStation version of the original Tekken onto the PlayStation Store right before the show. One facet of this manifold Iron Fist media assault is Tekken Hybrid, a PS3-exclusive collection that bundles the movie Tekken: Blood Vengeance 3D with an HD remake of the PS2's Tekken Tag Tournament. Unspecified extra content will also be thrown in for the set's November release -- judging from recent events, we're guessing that content will include trailers for like a dozen more Tekken games.%Gallery-126048%

You'll be able to see the next Tekken release in 3D, making the act of a mohawked robot punching a bear more immersive than ever. You just won't be able to play it. Announced at a Namco Bandai event in Dubai, Tekken: Blood Vengeance is a new CG movie scripted by Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Cowboy Bebop writer Dai Sato, with animation by Resident Evil: Degeneration's Digital Frontier. You can see the first trailer (and its brief scene of panda riding) after the break. It'll be out in Japanese theaters this summer. In other Tekken movie news, Anchor Bay Films announced a North American release for last year's live-action Tekken film, which will hit Blu-ray and DVD on July 19.
