What do you get when you mix Devolver Digital's Broforce with The Expendables 3? Why, "The Expendabros" of course, which happens to be a stand-alone crossover game that blends the run-and-gun action of Broforce with Expendables-inspired characters. Now available on Steam, The Expendabros is free to download and includes the likeness of characters from the upcoming action film sequel The Expendables 3. The game's seven playable characters include Broney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) and Bro Christmas (Jason Statham), and has players gunning their way through Eastern Europe to take down arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks. While The Expendabros is free to download now, it will only be available through the end of the year, December 31. Those unfamiliar with Broforce should check out our archived stream of the game from April. [Image: Devolver Digital]

Just when we were getting used to 7.1 channel surround sound audio tracks on our movies, our friends at High Def Disc News have pointed out Lionsgate's announcement of The Expendables 2 on Blu-ray that cranks the audio up to 11 -- 11.1 to be exact. The extra channels come courtesy of the new DTS Neo:X codec which includes support for speakers in the front mounted both high and wide to create more of a 3D audio effect that can simulate planes flying overhead or a car driving past. While those who have upgraded their receivers and added extra speakers will mostly experience the effect thanks to upmixing, it does allow for an 11.1 audio track with the extra channel info matrixed into a standard 7.1 audio track. Of course, with a supercharged action flick like TE2 there should be plenty of explosions to give any audio system a workout, and now we have one more reason to check it out when it's released November 20th (just beating the also Neo:X ready Step Up Revolution to the punch.) Beyond the audio there's also several making-of featurettes if you need more Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme in your life, plus UltraViolet and regular Digital Copy; all of which is currently available for pre-order on Amazon for $27.99. Check out a press release with all the specs plus a theatrical trailer for the movie and a video explaining DTS Neo:X audio after the break.

  • Australian rating reveals Expendables 2 game from Ubisoft

Sometimes we have difficulty figuring out exactly what a ratings board listing for an unannounced game could refer to. And sometimes that listing is called "The Expendables 2 Videogame."A new listing on Australia's Classification site reveals a game under that title in the works at Ubisoft. You'll be shocked to hear that the game, based on the action movie starring everyone who's ever been in an action movie, contains "strong violence."Despite the unambiguous title, there are still questions, like choice of platforms and release window. We're asking Ubisoft now. We're also curious as to how complicated it will be to make our in-game Van Damme jump up and do the splits across a countertop. There's probably a dedicated button for that.

The film which critics are hailing as "the muscliest video escapade in the whole of cinematic history" now has a similarly masculine video game adaptation. The Expendables – an upcoming summer blockbuster starring Sly Stallone, Jet Li, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Brock Stonejaw and Mickey Rourke – now has a free-to-play Contra clone on its official Facebook fan page. (Also, one of the actors listed above isn't real. Can you guess which one?) Take heed: You'll have to "Like" the Expendables fan page in order to gain access to the game. We realize that some people might not feel comfortable broadcasting their endorsement for what is clearly the movie of the decade, though, for the life of us, we can't imagine why.

  • The Expendables: Guns blazing, everything exploding

Following Most Wanted Entertainment's unveiling of Mechanic Master, IGN investigated the Hungarian studio's site and dug up an interesting squad-based shooter in development -- The Expendables. Using the touchscreen, players guide "the world's lamest international private army" through 35 missions, blowing up almost everything in sight. As you can see in the trailer and screenshots, this doesn't look like the most polished game, but the character sprites (and the buzz-saw tractor) definitely have some charm to them. The Expendables actually reminds us of a faster-paced Syndicate. You remember Bullfrog's Syndicate, right? That series was tight. MWE hasn't yet announced whether it has managed to pick up a publisher for the title. We have a feeling that if the studio ever does find one, it will have to find a more useful implementation for the top screen. Not that skulls laughing and machine guns spitting out bullet casings aren't totally awesome.%Gallery-27212%[Via IGN]
