  • 'Teletubbies' to return with tablet tummies

You wouldn't think that technology would have infected the primary colored world of children's TV, but even the Teletubbies have been forced to move with the times. The forthcoming remake of the stoner-favorite show sees the amorphous blobs ditch their stomach-mounted televisions for "touchscreen devices." Naturally, in the real world, it's still a square of grey felt stitched onto the costume, but characters will now interact with this tech in a way that's familiar to kids.

  • Where does he get those wonderful toys? Pandaren rares and loot

If there is one thing I have perfected in eight years of playing this game, it is filling my bags with useless stuff. I'm not talking about armor bits and pieces for transmog, or weapons with pretty glows, or bags full of crafting material like cloth or leather. No, I'm talking random baubles that will make you look like your neighbor. Or fling you in the air, without worry of what happens when you eventually hit the ground. You know, stuff. Everybody likes stuff. And who has the best stuff in Pandaria? Rare mobs, of course! But which rares have the good stuff? Which ones will let you summon a fleet of angered puppies in party hats to fight at your side? Or inexplicably get you ready for a day at the beach in the middle of a raid? Or turn you into a statue with no apparent purpose other than sitting there pretending to be a statue? You want useless stuff? Oh we've got all kinds of useless stuff for you, sorted by category.

  • Blingtron takes an interest in fashion in 5.1

Everyone's favorite wealthy benefactor has taken a sudden and keen interest in fashion in patch 5.1. The engineer created robot Blingtron now offers more than just a free gift pack a day -- he also has a new dialogue box. Apparently Bling doesn't care for Azeroth's finest fighting gear, and offers to dress you up in a manner that is "visually attractive to your species." If you're up for an episode of Extreme Makeover: Blingtron Edition, simply click the option that says "Let's party!" Regardless of race, you'll be transformed into a human wearing a particularly snazzy suit combo with a fashionable hat. You'll also gain the buff Dressed to Kill, which doesn't really do anything but proclaim that you're now decked out and ready to rumble with whatever comes your way. The buff lasts for one hour, and it does not last through death; if you're on the receiving end of the killing, you'll lose your snazzy duds. However, Blingtron will continue to offer the transformation buff even if you've already done his daily quest and gotten your gift for the day, so you can always get the buff back again if you lose it. If you're an engineer, this should give you a reason to use Blingtron more than once a day -- and if you don't happen to be an engineer, just keep your eyes peeled for Blingtron's glittering visage while you're out and about in Pandaria. Mists of Pandaria is here! The level cap has been raised to 90, many players have returned to Azeroth, and pet battles are taking the world by storm. Keep an eye out for all of the latest news, and check out our comprehensive guide to Mists of Pandaria for everything you'll ever need to know.

Players of the upcoming Korean MMO Eclipse War Online can transform into a variety of familiar and unique fantastical creatures, from massive-clawed scorpions to dragons to a blob with antennae. SC Internet recently introduced its new game that puts a twist on the standard adventuring: Instead of just being characters from stock races fighting against mobs, players can become the mob in fights! If players acquire the transformation card, they will be able to transform into almost every monster in game -- including bosses. When in altered form, players then get some of that monster's special abilities to use on top of their own. Want to be a wolf? Go kill a wolf. The principle flows through to PvP as well; killing another player will net the victor some of the loser's skills. Choosing which form to fight in also becomes a matter of strategy, as some monsters' powers change depending on time of day, location, etc. Want to get a gander at some of the available forms players can turn into? Catch a glimpse in the trailer after the break.

Aeria Games, the free-to-play publisher known for a variety of browser-based games, adds a new title to the mix. Both players and their pets will be able to transform into previously slain bosses, giving stat boosts on top of the cosmetic changes. Catch a glimpse of the game in the trailer after the cut. Nexon Europe is preparing for the biggest Vindictus update of the year. The Cohlen in Flames content package brings fire and brimstone to the online action title in the form of Resenlian's Labyrinth, which Nexon describes as "a deeply intense myriad of twisted, dark corridors and skull-lined murderous dungeons." New skills are coming too, foremost among them the transformation ability that features both a temporary boost in ability and a permanent (i.e., irreversible) decision to walk the path of the Paladin or that of the Dark Knight. There's also a new town in the update, and Rocheste features many new characters and side quests as well as the chance to create personal weapons via the new expertise system. Finally, Nexon is raising the level cap to 70, and you can get a glimpse of the update in the Cohlen in Flames and Transformation videos after the break.

ASUS has just posted a new video teaser for what appears to be a next-generation Eee Pad Transformer. Titled "The next Transformation," the clip is pretty light on details, though the mysterious device does make a brief appearance toward the end, sporting a design similar to what we saw last week, with ASUS' Zenbook lineup. No word yet on whether the forthcoming Transformer will be powered by NVIDIA's quad-core Kal El, as rumored, but you can see the teaser for yourself after the break. [Thanks, Lorenz]

  • Illusionary Tactics: Dartol's Rod of Transformation

Welcome to the first installment of my new column series, Illusionary Tactics. Each episode will bring you the full intelligence on an item or quest that disguises you, enabling you to better carry out those secret missions -- or at least confuse your friends and guildmates. This time, I'll be looking at Dartol's Rod of Transformation, a perennial favorite of my guild. I've written about this item before, but it's been a while, and it's perfect for this column, so I'm giving it some more air time. What does it do? It turns you into a furbolg for three minutes, with a one-minute cooldown. Unlike many disguises, you can still fight while in furby form, although the form is removed if you are damaged, so it's possible (and I've seen it done) to furbolg-heal and furbolg-ranged-DPS. Just right-click the item in your inventory to activate.
