The first three should account for more than 750 hours of HD Olympics action, so check out the schedule and get your DVR ready.

If you still believe that the fate of AMC-14 was going to get in the way of DISH Network rolling out new HD channels, you have to give up on that one because last night DISH announced the addition of 22 new HD channels including some that only its biggest competitor, DirecTV currently carries. Of the 22 channels, most are stretch-o-vision, but at least hold promise and a few have popped up recently unannounced. The biggest win is for news and movie fans as CNN HD, CNBC HD, ESPNews HD and a few movie channels top the list. The full list after the jump.[Thanks, Scott]

For fans of WWE and HD, things are about as good as they could possibly be. Just as you get ready to experience Smackdown and Royal Rumble in high-definition, along comes word that next Monday's episode of RAW will likely be aired in HD, too. Apparently, DirecTV is listing the show in HD on USA, which means that either RAW is indeed finally making the leap to HD or DirecTV has labeled it erroneously. Needless to say, we're hoping for the former, even if it ends up happening a bit later in the month.Update: Sure enough, we may not see RAW in HD until after Royal Rumble. Better late than never, we say.[Thanks, Colin V. and gamedude420]

We've seen two reports now leading us to believe that Dish Network subscribers can tune in to two new HD channels as early as tomorrow. Apparently, the satellite provider has already uplinked Sci-Fi HD and USA HD, and according to Scott Greczkowski over at SatelliteGuys, the two channels could go live to customers Friday -- as in, tomorrow. If all this pans out, it should be quite a nice weekend in front of the set for Dish customers.[Thanks, Daryl and Matt]Read - SatelliteGuysRead - HighDefForum

  • NBC to shoot 3600 hours of 2008 Olympics, many in HD

If you thought 416 hours of Winter Olympic Games coverage was a bit much, the 3,600 hours (that's 150 days worth, folks) that NBC-Universal will be recording next year will seem like overkill in its finest form. Sure enough, it will supposedly be covering every facet of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing from August 8 - 24, 2008, and a variety of networks including NBC, USA, MSNBC, and CNBC will be carrying its programming. Notably, it will be displaying Olympics in HD on Universal-HD, NBC HD, and USA HD, and while the exact amount of HD coverage wasn't stated, even a fraction of the 3,600 hour total would be mighty impressive.
