You don't need to travel to distant worlds, or perform any jedi mind tricks to get more looks into the deep world of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Today's website update provides more concept art, in the form of desktop backgrounds, and screenshots for those hungry for Star Wars information. These screenshots focus on the planets of Korriban and Tython, and much of the action that can take place in those two very different environments. Some of the highlights of these screenshots include the showdown between a Mon Calamari and a traitor outside of a jedi academy and a jedi facing off against a very large, and equally scary, Acklay.Check out the screenshots in the galleries below and see the action for yourself!%Gallery-35033%%Gallery-35036% BioWare has finally unveiled Star Wars: The Old Republic, their new MMO! • Star Trek Online wallpapers are 75% generic, 25% gorgeous

There's been a dearth of Star Trek Online news or information these past few weeks. We've been upset about it. Cryptic just broke radio science at long last, though: four Star Trek Online wallpapers have been posted at the game site. We've got all of 'em here for you to see, but head over to the official gallery for the full breadth of resolution choices. One of them is a rare in-game glimpse at a planet surface. It looks gorgeous, although we're suddenly worried about the minimum system requirements. Hopefully those nice lighting and shadow effects will scale back for low-end desktops and notebooks. %Gallery-33932%

  • New Stargate Worlds wallpapers feature in-game imagery

The official Stargate Worlds website has been updated in two waves with nine new wallpapers, most of which show in-game locales and combat engagements. You can go look at them at the official site, or you can grab them right here instead! We're awesome like that. Most of the wallpapers depict a city, but we're apparently not quite Stargate SG-1 literate enough to identify it. There are a couple images of combat (including one of someone getting torched by a flamethrower; that's kinda cool), one shot of a Jaffa in the previously mentioned city (pictured above), and one montage of weapon concept art.Despite a few cash flow problems at the studio, Stargate Worlds' closed beta test is either already underway or imminent, depending on who you ask. So if you like these images, you might as well go sign up.%Gallery-32906%

  • Intimidating Fable II hobbe wallpapers

To celebrate your love of everything Fable 2 - especially those evil and too cute hobbes characters - it's time for a desktop wallpaper refresh. Trust us, your current wallpaper is getting old, making us want to scream "ewww!" everytime we look at it. The new Fable 2 hobbes wallpapers come courtesy of the fine folks over at Lionhead who only want to help in your wallpaper refreshing efforts and force your subconscious to be reminded that Fable 2 will be releasing this October everytime you turn on your computer. Give in already ... you know you love those hobbes.

  • Blizz posts overpriced ringtones, wallpapers

It's not an iPhone Armory app, but Blizzard did release some official content for your mobile phones. They've set up a mobile.blizzard.com site, at which you can buy wallpapers and ringtones from WoW and the other Blizz franchises. At this point, you're probably asking yourself one question: can I get a murloc gurgle ringtone? The answer, thankfully, is yes. Yes you can. (Though I can't guarantee it's a good idea.) There is a big catch: the ringtones are priced at $2.99 each. Yikes. I know ringtones are big business, and I know Blizz is all about the tie-ins, but this is foolishness. Who would pay this over recording an MP3 and sending it to their phone? The wallpapers are $1.99, which is equally dumb for something I could just as easily screenshot off Blizz's concept art pages and email to my phone. Also I can't find the USA or Canada on the list of countries; it seems, at least at the moment, that these are not available here. It's a shame that these are so oddly expensive, and that they're not even available in the US, because some of them are pretty well-done. It would be awesome to play the WoW intro theme when my guildies text me to go raid. I guess I'll just have to make my own ringtone for it.

  • LEGO Batman website gets some updates, Facebook group

We just got a press release sent in about some cool features at the LEGO Batman website. The only problem is, these features have not gone live yet. That isn't stopping us from telling you what to expect, though.First of all, there's a downloadable widget for your desktop, in the form of Batman himself or The Joker. Also, there's a tool for creating your own custom wallpapers, if you're into that sort of thing. Then, there's the usual: screens, video (the E3 trailer you saw already) and other miscellaneous goodies. Keep an eye on the site for the new content, which is supposed to be live right now, but wasn't when we checked. On top of that, there's also a new Facebook group for the game. That is, if you're into the whole social networking site thing.%Gallery-13236%Source - LEGO Batman websiteSource - LEGO Batman Facebook group

Stop the presses! Those of you just itching for information about DC Universe Online can now check out its profile on MySpace. That's right, well before there's an official webpage, you can get access to screenshots, wallpapers, icons, and concept art. There's also a dev blog, with interviews and video diaries to come. What's even more exciting for fans is the chance to attend the DCUO party at this year's ComicCon by making the profile your top friend, and printing the page out to show DC as proof. The party will be held July 25th at the Sweetwater Saloon in San Diego. Wow, who knew the Internet was such a great connective service? Gallery: DC Universe Online [Via Big Download]

  • New Champions Online wallpapers feature wider pixels

It wasn't very long ago that there were only two Champions Online wallpapers to plaster across our pixel-powered screens. Now Cryptic has been kind enough to add Menton and Ironclad to their desktop background selections, bringing the total to four wallpapers. We hope this becomes a regular thing as they reveal more NPCs, as we're very certain that some of the coolest characters are still beyond the lore horizon.Thankfully, Cryptic has seen fit to make their wallpapers fit widescreen monitors as well. Which is something we -- and apparently a lot of you -- asked for the last time Cryptic was nice enough to offer us these things in the first place -- so thank you Cryptic. Now would you kindly keep working on bringing our utmost superhero fantasies to life? Thanks, we owe ya one.

  • New Lich King fansite kit released: it's purty

Blizzard has announced on their forum that the first Lich King fansite kit is officially available for public use. Among the goodies that they've included in the 32mb download are Lich King concept art pieces, sample HTML for WoW-esque page layouts, new logos, wallpapers, a fact sheet and FAQ, a sample Lich King article, and graphic source files. Now, if you're at all like we are, you'll go download the fankit now and ogle all the shiny new material for Blizzard's upcoming expansion. A cursory glance through the screenshots shows how Blizzard has so far succeeded in striking the right balance between maintaining WoW's scale and detail while still evoking familiar feelings from The Frozen Throne.
