In a video released last night, mere moments before patch 5.2's PTR went live, Panser sums up all the best bits that can be found in the PTR, drawing from the full current notes that WoW Insider recently published. Among Panser's highlights were the following: The new daily quest hub, the isle of the Thunder King, will bring new quest lines, including dailies, quests that focus on either PvP or PvE, along with events and access to the mysterious "Treasure Room". Two new world bosses are added, Nalak the Storm Lord only being available after the defeat of Lei Shen, and Oondasta. These world bosses tap to faction. Pet Battle Changes: bandages stack to 25 and bind on account. PvP pet battle victories can award pet battle stones, and XP and lesser charms can be awarded from wins in PvP or PvE pet battles, depending on level. New pets on the Isle of Lightning, from wild pet battles, even from raid drops. Elite pet battles will take on your entire team, and defeating them will award an adorable red panda cub! New mounts, including a Spectral Charger, a Triceratops and Pterodactyl New hearthstone item called a Dark Portal Heirlooms will scale to 85. Darkmoon top hat offers 10% increased XP and reputation gain. If you enjoyed the video, don't forget to head over to Panser's channel and subscribe, and check back for her weekly recaps every Friday. Mists of Pandaria is here! The level cap has been raised to 90, many players have returned to Azeroth, and pet battles are taking the world by storm. Keep an eye out for all of the latest news, and check out our comprehensive guide to Mists of Pandaria for everything you'll ever need to know.

WoW Insider's very own Weekly Recap host, Panser, is to appear on a TBS show, to take a shot at being crowned King of the Nerds! King of the Nerds is said to be taking the "glory of geekdom to a whole new level" as all eleven of the competitors striving for this illustrious title will live together in what has been dubbed Nerdvana. As the show's site, where Panser is prominently featured, says: Each week, they must face challenges that will test their intellect, ingenuity, skills and pop culture prowess. In each episode, the nerds will first compete as teams and then as individuals, facing challenges that range from live gaming to a dance-off to life-sized chess. One competitor will be eliminated each week until one nerd stands alone as the ultimate champion of all things nerdy. I'm sure you'll join WoW Insider in wishing Panser all the best in her bid for geek glory! The show airs on TBS in January 2013. We'll be watching!

At the end of every week, we round up the best and most popular news stories, exclusive features, and insightful columns published on Massively and then present them all in one convenient place. Miss a big MMO or WoW Insider story last week? You've come to the right post. Early in the week we began to get word that the Star Wars: The Old Republic pre-order was about to hit -- and lo and behold, it did. For fans desperate to get their hands on the title, knowing that there's a copy out there reserved just for them became the next best thing. Unfortunately, we also learned that not every region was to get SWTOR initially, and a few grumpy feelings ensued. Hopefully the other SWTOR news coming out of Comic-Con, such as confirmation of beta weekends in September, is enough to keep the pre-launch anticipation positive and peppy! Hit the jump to see the rest of this past week's top stories.

When it comes to MMO news and special features, Joystiq sister site Massively.com has you covered. Whether you're looking for info on the hottest new MMO, or you're just curious about an old favorite, you'll find it at Massively. Check out our biggest features of the week: Final Fantasy XIV not due for the Xbox 360 according to Hiromichi Tanaka Final Fantasy XI isn't just one of the only console MMOs in existence, it's also the most successful of the lot, due in part to the wide spread of available platforms. Since the game has long been playable on the Xbox, there were several Final Fantasy XIV fans (or Xbox 360 owners) hoping it would eventually come out on that console as well. But it's not happening, and according to a recently translated interview from 4players.de, the reason rests squarely with Microsoft. ArenaNet unveils the Guild Wars 2 ranger Speculation was all over the map: necromancer was a popular choice thanks to the recent sneak peek of Ghosts of Ascalon. Mesmers and some sort of paladin class were suggested, as well as rangers. Things got even more interesting on Monday, when ArenaNet teased the upcoming reveal of a new class. Well, it looks like rangers won out -- ArenaNet announced the ranger class for Guild Wars 2 today. Massively Speaking Podcast Episode 107: A chat with Felicia Day Massively Speaking Episode 107 is a very special episode in which Rubi and Shawn are joined by Felicia Day, creator and star of the hit web series, The Guild. Topics include her work on Guild Wars 2's trailer, her MMO inspirations and much more. Plus, we also tackle the week's news, including the possibility of STO going free-to-play and the whole Real ID fiasco.

When it comes to MMO news and special features, Joystiq sister site Massively.com has you covered. Whether you're looking for info on the hottest new MMO, or you're just curious about an old favorite, you'll find it at Massively. Check out our biggest features of the week: Massively's predictions for 2010 With 2009 wrapping up today and 2010 lurking creepily around the corner, we're eager to release our predictions on what the next year may bring to the MMO scene. Even though we try to keep our news relatively neutral, it's the editorials and opinion pieces that garner the most reaction from the readers. Positive or negative, we appreciate that. So for this last day of 2009, we honor it by giving our own opinions (both positive and negative) about how 2010 looks to us. Massively's top 5 news stories of 2009 It's that time again! Time when we look backwards and try to identify the top 5 big news stories that we covered here at Massively. 2009 was a pretty turbulent year when it comes to the MMO industry, as we were involved in lawsuits, game closures, multiple major releases, a rising set of indie studios, and more news than you could handle. Hands-on with Klingons and PvP in Star Trek Online If there's one thing that's almost more synonymous with Star Trek than classic catch phrases, it's the Klingons. They are the Captain Hook to the Federation's Peter Pan and thus it's important to several potential players that Star Trek Online do them justice. Understandably, when Cryptic made the announcement that Klingons would be primarily a PvP focused faction, people were concerned. Players don't want their beloved gruff 'n tough warrior race to become a second-tier faction.

Gaze on it, and despair! The abomination above is a common sight in the World of Warcraft this week -- Blizzard has kicked off their marketing season with another commercial from Mr. T, as well as an in-game item to go along with it. It's the Mohawk Grenade, an item that, when thrown, makes WoW characters look like T himself. Awesome? Terrible? You decide. That story and many more from Joystiq's Warcraft-obsessed sister site WoW.com. We pity the fool who doesn't check out the roundup after the break.
