We've been talking a lot about Halloween-themed in-game events of late. Whether it's Middle-earth, Hyboria, or Erinn, everyone seems to be getting in on the act. Not to be outdone, BioWare-Mythic is entering the fray with the forthcoming Daemon Moon Rising event for Warhammer Online, which includes the Daemonball Rally public quest, the Daemon Mask quest, and the High Pass Cemetery scenario battle. New reward masks are also in store, and you even have a chance to loot last year's Witching Night mask rewards in case you missed them. This year's event is currently ongoing, and will last through Tuesday, November 2nd. Tiptoe over to the official WAR site for all the grisly details.

If you were a fan of Witching Night, Heavy Metal, Keg's End, Night of Murder, and Bitter Rivals, you will probably enjoy this interrogation of, er, interview with Mark Davis, Live Events Lead for Warhammer Online. Syp of the WAAAGH! Blog had a chance to ask Mark some interesting questions about these events, which surprisingly weren't even a planned feature until shortly after the game's release.According to Mark, Mythic received the most positive feedback for the Night of Murder event, which focused primarily on RvR. They received the worst feedback for the PvE-heavy Keg's End event. The dedicated team is always trying to improve Live Events based on player feedback and finding new ways to incorporate them into the Warhammer IP. If you enjoy re-occurring seasonal/holiday themed events, you will not be disappointed as they plan to bring them back bigger and better each time around. Check out the WAAAGH! Blog for the full interview, including an interesting list of lessons learned since unleashing their first Live Event.Do you have a favorite event? If so, why?

With the introduction of Patch 1.0.4, Witching Night has hit Warhammer Online. This is the first seasonal event the game has seen since its launch in September, and Mythic are doing their part to keep up with the whole "MMO holiday" thing that is so popular across many games. Participating in the events of Witching Night gives you a chance to get your hands on a number of rewards, including masks, cloaks and titles. Although the special PQs have some irritating aspects (detailed in our guide), you'll still probably find yourself coming out to see what all the fuss is about. We've made a gallery guide of all that Witching Night has to offer, so click on the button below to find out all there is to know, before the event ends on November the 2nd! Holidays are always some of the most-anticipated elements in online gaming, and new titles are always watched very closely to see what they offer for these all-important live events. Warhammer may have just gone into service, but the dev team is not resting on its laurels. The Witching Night event is going live tomorrow (Thursday), and will be on tap for Warhammer players through Sunday, November 2nd. What can you do for the next four day so or so? How about participating in brand-new Public Quests that reward holiday-themed loot? Or hunting down wandering ghosts and witches that are plaguing the more PvE-oriented parts of the game? Even Scenario-goers will find that holiday rewards are dropping from their opponents! And what rewards there are. There are four awesome-looking masks (pictured above), plus two new cloaks, and a small batch of new potions and and trinkets. The only catch with this is that the new PQs are going to take their time to reset, so you'll have to be a bit persistent to ensure the Elite-level mask drops into your hands. That said, all the loot is useable at every level of play. Get ingame, and check out this all-new content for one of the MMO genre's all-new games. Did you enjoy this? • This is Halloween... or Witching Night, if you're in WAR

We've seen a few protestations here and there that there won't be any Halloween event in Warhammer Online. Not so! Associate producer Mark Davis has provided some juicy details, along with a lot of other inside information on some of the game's narrative twists and turns on the PvE side. It's not all kill ten of this and deliver that to the other: being tied to the stake and set alight will probably be a new MMO experience for most players.Halloween in the Warhammer universe is known as Witching Night, a time when the divisions between worlds grow thin (or thinner) and the power of the Purple Wind of Magic waxes strong. In the RvR areas, there will be boss monsters roaming around, laden with choice loot and looking for players to mash to a pulp. As they'll be in the skirmish areas, the opportunity technically exists for Order and Destruction to fight against the supernatural foes jointly, though this is about as likely as the two sides declaring a ceasefire and playing football with a dwarf head. There will also be some purely PvE monster encounters planned for Witching Night, but Mark Davis is keeping us all in the dark about those for now.
