Last Friday, It came from the Blog participated in Occupy Orgrimmar, protesting Garrosh's treatment of the trolls. It was a peaceful protest. After all, we're all still patriots. For the Horde! But we did our part to support the troll community. All of the trolls met in Sen'jin Village. Then we marched to Razor Hill and onward to Orgrimmar. We went straight to Grommash Hold and sat in Garrosh's chambers for a while. Protesta, my troll, made a speech showing solidarity with our fellow trolls.

Last month, It came from the Blog held its annual Flamefest, celebrating the Midsummer Fire Festival. Each year, we pick a continent and flame it. This year, we set the Eastern Kingdoms on fire. First, we met in Brill, where the statue of the Dark Lady presides over all doings there. Then we went to the ruins of Lordaeron and took the portal to Silvermoon City. We rode through town, out the front gate and over to the fire outside Falconwing Square. After that, we headed to Tranquillien in the Ghostlands to honor the flame there. We took the flightpath back to the city, ran to the portal, returned to the ruins and then headed to Silverpine Forest. Once there, we traveled to the Sepulcher where we again honored the flame and spun around in circles. Then off to Tarren Mill we went, passing inconspicuous bears as we went.

Last week, the It came from the Blog family of guilds held its annual Running of the Orphans. As the name suggests, we ran our orphans around, completing the Orgrimmar Children's Week quests. After we picked up our orphans from the matron, we took the zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Tirisfal Glades. We ran (no mounts, no ports, no summons) to have an audience with Lady Sylvanas in the Undercity. Then we ran back to the zeppelin, making the return trip to Org. Next, since some players did not have the flightpath to Thunder Bluff, we took the zeppelin there (AKA the Love Zeppelin) and ran out to Red Rocks to honor the fallen chieftain. We ran back to town and then took the flightpath right back to Orgrimmar.

You have to be at least level 10, because you can't get an orphan otherwise. We also will not be forming a raid since we need to complete quests. We will have an event chat set up as usual, however. The pet you get for completing the quest is bind on account and tradeable, so don't let your not being Horde or Zangarmarsh not being your main server stop you from joining us. Hope to see you there! When: Tonight, April 26 at 10:30 p.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. PDT, 8:30 p.m. server time) Where: Meet at the inn in the Valley of Strength, Orgrimmar on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) Who: Any character level 10 or above How: Just ask any It came from the Blog member if you are not already in our family of guilds What: Visiting bars throughout Azeroth The two things we usually have in our events are drinking and death. You'll need some cash for buying digital drinks, but I'll buy you some, should you run short. Mounts are not required as much of the travel will be by mage portals. You will need to be level 10 to join the raid group, however. We will not be holding cross-realm events for the foreseeable future, so you need to be on Zangarmarsh and you need to be Horde. But keeping a character in our guild means you can always join in our monthly events. We look forward to seeing you at Bar Crawl 2013! It's time for this month's It came from the Blog event and we're going to be virtually drinking. Again. This time the excuse is so that we can hit some famous and not-so-famous bars around Azeroth. We'll begin our journey with Barkeep Morag in Orgrimmar. Here are the details: When: Friday, April 26 at 10:30 p.m. EDT (7:30 p.m. PDT, 8:30 p.m. server time) Where: Meet at the inn in the Valley of Strength, Orgrimmar on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) Who: Any character level 10 or above How: Just ask any It came from the Blog member if you are not already in our family of guilds. What: Virtual booze, travel, more virtual booze, probably no death -- this time You should be at least level 10, so that you can join a raid group. You also should have some money for drinking, but I can provide libations for those who are short on cash. So join us for Bar Crawl 2013! And if you normally play Alliance please create a Horde character and join us anyway. You'll be able to see some places that are new to you and have some fun as well. It came from the Blog is having another scavenger hunt and you're all invited. When: Tomorrow, March 30 at noon EDT (9 a.m. PDT, 10 a.m. server time) Where: Meet at the fountain in the Court of the Sun in Silvermoon City on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) Who: Any Horde player, but you'll have a better chance of winning if you have a mount How: Just ask Tizzi or any It came from the Blog member if you aren't already in our family of guilds There will be 10 winners. The prize for each winner will be a choice of battle pets, some donated by guildies and some extras from my collection. All you have to do is complete the scavenger hunt and show the items in a trade window to me (Tizzi). The hunt will take place in a non-flying area, so only those with ground mounts will be at an advantage. You will need 25g (which will be provided to those that are new to the server and poor) and 37 spaces in your bags. (The list is a bit longer than usual to make it more challenging.) The items will be listed in /say at the event time, so that punctual players have an advantage. I will then repeat the list 15 minutes later in event chat. So come have some fun and maybe win a valuable battle pet. And remember, since battle pets are account-wide, you don't have to have your main on Zangarmarsh or even in the Horde in order to enjoy them. Please join us on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) in It came from the Blog. All guild ranks can invite, so /whisper Tizzi or any online member. I have quite a few battle pets burning a hole in my pocket, so it's time for another scavenger hunt. When: Saturday, March 30 at noon EDT (9 a.m. PDT, 10 a.m. server time) Where: Meet the fountain in the Court of the Sun in Silvermoon City on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) Who: Any horde player How: Just ask Tizzi or any member of It came from the Blog for an invite Some of the companions have been donated by guildies and others are extras I have from holidays. The great thing about battle pets is that everyone who joins us will still be able to use their prizes on their home servers. The contest will be held in zones that don't allow flying, but you'll have a better chance of winning if you have a mount. That having been said, I have many pets to give away, so there will be many winners. The hunt list will be provided in /say when the event begins, so that only those who are punctual will be able to see it. It will be given again 15 minutes later in event chat. These hunts are always fun so please join us! Please join us on Zangarmarsh (US-PvE-H) in It came from the Blog. All guild ranks can invite, so /whisper Tizzi or any online member. • The Daily Grind: Do you use in-game guild-finding tools?

    by
    Bree Royce

    03.22.2013

Massively's sister site WoW Insider recently ran a poll asking its readers about the use of World of Warcraft's looking-for-guild tools. Approximately 56.9% of the respondents said they'd never used the tool, but a whopping 17.5% said they had. That 17.5% seems a staggering number to me, but then, I know my experience is abnormal; I've been in basically the same guild with the same core group of people for my entire MMO career. I just can't imagine treating a guild the same way I'd treat a group or a raid -- opening up a looking-for-guild panel and ticking all the right boxes until the tool found me a guild that at least on paper met my specifications. It just seems artificial and ephemeral to me. But clearly, it's been of value to almost a fifth of WoW Insider's readership, and since finding a good guild these days is apparently a pain in the rear, I'm calling that a good thing. So now I'd like to pose the same question to the broader MMO community. Have you guys ever used a looking-for-guild tool in any of the MMOs you play? If not, do you stick to traditional methods like ads on forums or chatting up people you meet in person? And if so, has the guild-finder ever led you to a permanent home? Every morning, the Massively bloggers probe the minds of their readers with deep, thought-provoking questions about that most serious of topics: massively online gaming. We crave your opinions, so grab your caffeinated beverage of choice and chime in on today's Daily Grind!

It's certainly nice to see the developers out and about in the community and talking content -- and one thing's for certain, everyone is pumped for patch 5.2's release. This is a call to action! It came from the Blog is staging a peaceful protest tomorrow. We want booze sold in the Undercity, and we want it now! Seriously, how is that even legal? At the end of last month, the It came from the Blog family of guilds celebrated the Lunar Festival with Lunar Lunacy 2013. We delivered on the promise of playing with things that go boom, achievements, and risking our lives. First we gathered in the throne room of the Ruins of Lordaeron. (We made no sacrifices to The Elevator Boss on that day.) While we waited for everyone to arrive, we completed the initial Lunar Festival quest to get our invitations, and some attendees achieved both Frenzied Firecracker and The Rocket's Red Glare. Then we were off to Moonglade, via our invitations, to beat up Omen, with many lowbies dying. Regardless, Elune's Blessing was ours. We then headed back to the festivities and made our invitations take us to Thunder Bluff to honor the elder there. Afterwards, we flew to Orgrimmar and completed the Elders of the Horde.

  • Get a load of World of Warcraft's Isle of the Thunder King

Those of you holding fast to your martial arts ursines in World of Warcraft are probably quite geeked about the upcoming patch 5.2. The second major post-Mists of Pandaria update for the game includes a new quest hub, raid, world bosses, and a farm that you can buy and make your very own. Our sister site WoW Insider took a closer look at 5.2, which is currently on the public test realm. The focus of the article was the Isle of the Thunder King questing zone, which involves a struggle between the Sunreaver Onslaught and Kirin Tor Offensive factions. The area has plenty of cool quest elements; it allows players to transform into the lizardy Sauroks, to be a counselor to golems, and use a ritual stone that summons group bosses. The article notes that players will see the return of a couple of familiar faces, such as the Image of Archmage Vargoth.
